I have recently learned of the deaths of 2 longstanding Rovers fans. James Carswell died shortly before Christmas aged 78 and was buried out of Holy Trinity church. Affectionately known as wee Jimmy, James had been a regular at Cliftonhill for many years until his early 70s when ill health had prevented this.
In the last few days James Stewart from Plains has died. James in his mid 70s was originally from the Townhead area. He had been a Rovers fan before moving south to work but on returning home he had resumed his place in the stand at games , giving very vocal backing to the team and vocal 'advice' to those players he thought could be doing better. Unfortunately, due to health and caring duties, James could not manage to games in recent years.
Our thoughts go out to the families and friends of James and John in these difficult times.
Ronnie

Condolences to the families and friends of those supporters. Sad to see the passing of those who had so many tales to tell.
