[quote author=" rovers " source="/post/25671/thread" The weekly jackpot is advertised almost daily on the clubs twitter. I know it’s advertised on Twitter, but that doesn’t mean that we are selling 14 thousand tickets every week. I just queried if it was making enough that the club benefited from it. Update on the playing figures for anyone interested. At present we have 98 players and on average we have had 114 lines being played each week over the first 15 draws. The introduction of a second (£50 prize) and a 2nd prize (signed ball) for the two draws during the festive period increased the number of players by 2 and the number of lines by played by 5. Whilst this was only over a two week period you can perhaps draw the conclusion that adding in further chances smaller prizes wouldn’t generate a sufficiently high enough volume of new players/lines to introduce the chances to win smaller prizes on a permanent basis. We will of course to continue to monitor this and if the number of players/lines increase then we will revisit. As per a previous post some of these players have generously purchased a years, 6 months or a quarters worth of tickets in advance. To remind everyone the contractual and legal obligations we need to adhere to are noted below. These should be kept in mind when extrapolating the aforementioned information for analytical purposes. The provider of the lotto (Clubforce) are due 10% of each £1 played. Annually there is a hosting fee payable of £250 for the use of the software/platform. Finally, as per the license granted by North Lanarkshire Council, you must maintain a reserve sufficient to cover the maximum jackpot and secondly 25% of the Wee Rovers Lotto proceeds must be used for the purposes in which the society has been formed. For example contributions towards the squad fund, buddy’s club and supporters buses etc. Whilst we are unable to conduct these activities at the moment due to COVID we do have an obligation to set fund aside for these purposes. Thanks for that new2rovers. It kinda follows what the one we run does albeit ours is a bit smaller When you see that only 100 folk have taken it up you really have to think what you need to do to stir the folks up in the town. Yeh the pubs being closed is a problem when trying to punt this but as it’s done online rather than by filling in a sheet you wonder if it’ll make any difference when they open again. Do we advertise it weekly in the local rag or do that crowd want a payment for that?

As pubs are closed, what about advertising in take aways, chip shops etc, some have space set aside for various posters.

Is the tweet from and official account of ARFC? Yes/No? Agree/Disagree? Should have been written in blood. Spoilt brats Eh? Unintelligible rambling. The person it was aimed at , read it ! 🎯 As the wise old sage (Frank Meade) used to say “It’s not what you get out of Albion Rovers, it’s what you put in”

Eh? Unintelligible rambling. The person it was aimed at , read it ! 🎯 As the wise old sage (Frank Meade) used to say “It’s not what you get out of Albion Rovers, it’s what you put in” Almost like a cryptic crossword, Buchanan! Indeed. You’ve been around longer than me, Bucky, but even in my ‘short’ time as a Rovers fan (around 14 years) I’ve seen a fair few charlatans come and go. Yet we continue to put ‘in’ as you say - money, support, and effort...and opinions, which are just as important as anything. I’ve never (ever) asked for anything of the club other than decent leadership and communication from those at the helm. If you could trawl the archives on here, I’d like to think I’ve been pretty consistent on that. Interesting that you should mention Frank Meade. He was the last Chairman with any business nous and savvy. Straight as a dye, honest, and most importantly willing (and able) to harbour both applause and criticism from the terraces. I’d put Robert Watt in the same category. They’re just the type of minds we lack in the boardroom. Hope you’re having a nice Saturday evening! Jordie.

Just a thought, why not ask all Albion Rovers to promote this on their twitter feeds, I am sure The Renwick sisters would, they have loads of followers and Kim has stated she to me in tweets that she would do more for the club, they also have loads of followers, maybe ask the sponsors to tweet about it too. Spread the word, it costs nothing, And as a certain supermarket says, every little helps.

Sad to see Rovers fans having a go at each other. Come on let's get behind each other and the club and yes, even the board, because if we continue with this self destructive talk, we are heading nowhere. We have enough of a challenge to survive in this league without tearing each other apart. However, I must end my rant by saying xxxxx shut the feck up🤬😂
Now let's move forwards together.

Peter Peter, I admire your ability to just let things be. But the situation, so many of us fear, is perilous and doing (and saying) nothing isn’t an option. Goes without saying I’ll always back the team on the park, but am really worried there might not be an ARFC if some very important issues aren’t addressed ASAP. Debate and discussion isn’t ‘having a go’ - it’s a perfectly normal part of being a fan of a football club. I’d be more worried about things if ideas weren’t being exchanged and obvious shortcomings not highlighted. Jordie

Haven't heard anything one way or another but will assume as current restrictions have been extended to mid February that it includes no lower league football. ☹️
