The ruling doesnāt sit right with me to give champions without playing most of the games, but, itās been voted by all clubs so we have to accept it whether we like it or not.
Onto the money thing, why is there so much anger towards money that is being put into these clubs? Regardless of where itās coming from, itās happening whether that is legal or illegal money. Would there be this anger if we were getting money put into us and the team was flying? I think not

I do think it is an interesting point about where these super-rich teams get their cash from. Ambition=dosh, and lots of it. No harm in asking where they get it from, is there, given that their avowed intention is to sweep we minor clubs away?

No harm in asking where they get it from, is there, given that their avowed intention is to sweep we minor clubs away? Did you ask the same questions when it was banded about that we were spending all sorts of money into the team to win the league? Thereās a whiff of jealousy. They have investors, we donāt. They are ambitious with the money they have invested.. we donāt have the luxury but Iām sure if we did we would be ambitious too.

Brora have now officially been declared Highland League champions. Surely no legitimacy can credibly be taken from winning 3 games and being champs, not least when others havenāt kicked a ball at all. It was decided on a points per game system, Even though 5 teams all averaged 3 points per game .... Mathematicaly I think that makes strathspey thistle champions they played 0 games and you can't divide anything by 0 so they have an undefined number of points ergo they have any number of points you want them to have

Official statement from East Stirlingshire:
āUpdate - Season confirmed as over.
Following discussions between the Scottish FA, Lowland League and its member clubs the decision has been taken to end the Scottish Lowland League season.
A majority of clubs voted yesterday to end the season using points per game from the matches played resulting in us finishing 5th. For absolute clarity we voted for the proposal to finish the season this way for two reasons.
1. The financial cost to continue this season with no guarantees of finishing it would have hurt the club and our future as well as the timescale required to play it out was now impossible. 2. To give the lowland league the best opportunity to keep the SPFL play offs intact as its vital not to have a second season with no play offs.
Thank you. We would like to thank everyone for the support we have received through this challenging season like no other.
The players who have trained every session in all weathers without any indoor changing facilities, played games in freezing and muddy conditions then have no changing or shower facilities. Thanks guys.
The coaches and back room who have tried to facilitate as much as normal and work through every Covid crazy circumstance thrown at them.
Shona our physio who has treated players on benches in fields, corridors and on freezing concrete floors around the country.
To the kitmen trying to get kit sorted and clean in short timescales, having to lay kit out in 3 locations at various social club rooms and outbuildings around the grounds.
To everyone who financially helped us survive the season through sponsorship, donations and fundraising, it without doubt has been the most challenging ever as without your help we may not have survived ā¤ļø thank you all.
That said the most challenging season may be yet to come as next season will be a massive challenge given the financial resource itās taken to survive this and we should all be under no illusions just how hard itās going to be. The club will need help.
We will be ready to go on day one but we will need everyone to support and help. Hopefully we will have supporters back for day one of the new season and over the next few weeks we will be looking at season tickets and sponsorship packages.
New season will start on 17th July for 2021/22
More info to follow now we have clarity about this season and we can plan for next.
Thanks everyone.ā
The second reason is the one that I think has been pushed on the clubs by either or both the Lowland league and Kelty Hearts.
If they didnāt put a champion forward then they could be risking the whole pyramid system. A nonsense, but the sort of scaremongering we have seen a lot of in the past 7 or 8 years in the lead up to major votes.

I dare say some of the clubs voted on the strength of seeing the back of Kelty who wield a fair share of the financial power in the LL. Like all league votes - all clubs vote for self interest.

I think to be fair to everyone it should be taken very soon. Ronnie

It really is a poor effort from the SPFL: teams back playing and we have no idea what is happening. Surely that must have been part of what the clubs agreed to? ? (But it WILL happen: big shots Kelty and Brora will get their way).

A good point Stewmelrover Brora and Kelty may wish playoffs to go ahead but SPFL have to look at bigger picture and do the right thing by their member clubs. Ronnie

Potentially the biggest loser yesterday was Vale of Leithen. The LL clubs reneged on their agreement to call the season null and void if less than 50% of the season was complete. Depending how the leagues below are called VoL face relegation- completely thrown under the bus. Also Bonnyrigg Rose not happy with the decision.

The basic question for SPFL is the validity of a playoff between the bottom of League 2 who will have played 24 league games, the bulk of which will have happened in a 6 week period against a team who have been named champions after 3 games. The question is whether that is a valid option or does it bring ridicule on the game in Scotland and damage the SPFLās reputation.

Dreadful.
