When so many appear to be aware of this would-be investor, why is no one mentioning a name? Is he a scary dude?

Also the fairly pertinent amount of the offer.

Rab hits the nail on the head - the key is what his motives are? Nobody knows . He is an very strange guy. Meantime Rovers slip closer and closer to LL doldrums. Given AF’s complete lack of interest in the club’s declining fortunes, one can only assume his motives are solely financial, combined perhaps with an element of sentimental attachment to the club his father ran for so long. Whatever his motives are, his intransigence is doing untold damage to our chances of long term SFL survival. Is that really what he wants? I’m assuming it is financial Bill there have been offers knocked back before- they were always a complicated family. Surely Anton must appreciate that if Rovers end up in the LL it could spell the end of the club . Here’s hoping it’s an offer that can be returned to.

Some excellent posts in this thread about one of the most important issues facing the club. You can sense the frustration oozing out of each post. Firstly, Mr Fagan doesn't have to sell his shares nor does he have to explain why he doesn't. He doesn't have to explain why he only gets active at AGMs to call poll votes to block not a share issue but merely an exploration of the mechanics and costs of a possible share issue. Mr Fagan's actions then open the door to conjecture as to why he blocks any move towards a share issue and why he doesn't accept significant offers for his shares. There can be only 2 possible reasons. One a strong emotional tie to the club which drives him to retain almost total control over the destiny of the Rovers or the prospect of financial gain when the stadium, our one and only asset, is sold. Grant implies with his 'better the devil you know' quip that he would choose the status quo. Let us look at the offers from the 2 'devils'. The Mr Fagan offer of blocking a share issue that could bring in much needed finance and rejecting moves for his shares which could see significant injection of money into the club or the offer made by the anonymous interested party to put in a near six figure sum, pay the costs of looking at a share issue and the question of the dead shares, making shares available for sale to fans, all for a representative on the BOD. I would go for option 2 as I'm sure most other shareholders/supporters would do. The club is in real and present danger. I would recommend people read Brechin City's club statement from yesterday where they state that in the January window they spent the most of any League ! or League 2 club on bringing in new players. In 3 months we could be facing losing our league status. This all sounds bleak but I would suggest the BOD crack on with the working group to get an actual costed proposal for a share issue to put to an EGM of shareholders, that the interested party is offered a place for his/her representative on the board now to keep them in the tent so their substantial offer is still on the table and would suggest the Supporters Trust contact Mr Fagan asking him to reconsider his rejection of the recent offer. To quote Rab' this can't go on'

With all the good work and positive news from the club of late it is do sad that one man is damaging the club by his actions or in most cases inaction. If you have any integrity do the right thing.
