Very unlucky. Rovers played well, but looked knackered towards the end. Harsh to lose 2-0, but there you go. Great effort from the team in the last few weeks, and we would have taken 7th any day even a month ago. Good work from the manager and the team. Cowdenbeath celebrations? You would have thought they had won the league!!!!

I think the schedule of games took its toil tonight - the injury list is testament to that. We grafted well but the strength of the Cowden players won it for them. It has been a great learning experience for the squad over the past couple of months and if anybody had predicted 7th spot back in December would have been laughed at . Hopefully the nucleus of the team will be retained and with a bit of experience and physical strength all over , we will be a force to reckon with. The celebrations at the end were for Ian Russell's final game and goal - ironic ex Airdrie guy !!
Rovers got beat tonight 2-0 kind of off the game in the last to matches, but 7 place in the table is better than second bottom, now we need to try keep the players we need at the club, the club should try and sign Atkins.
I think the volume of games in a short space finally caught up with us - in saying that we seemed to manage the inevitable injuries pretty well. Probably should have sealed 6th position against Brechin on Saturday. In the end we set out what we wanted to achieve- avoid bottom place and climb the table to safety not that I’m celebrating- more quiet contentment that my nerves weren’t shredded leading up to the last couple of games of the season.
I’m assuming the club is already planning for next season. We have a problem now in that loanees are heading back to their clubs, we will need experienced players next year as well as a solid goalkeeper (No1 priority).
Thanks to the players - hopefully see some of them back next season
