Listened to the Jim Chapman one today- good stuff. Always thought Jim as a deep kinda guy but I quite like him and he took over Rovers at a very turbulent time - it didn’t end well but was happy to hear that him and Robert Watt have made up since then.

Some wee memrories of Chappie of the managerial era. He was wandering around Cliftonhill with his son a week or 2 before being appointed and it was obvious he was going to be.
We were painting and/or weeding as it was pre-season and he stood on the far side terracing and got me to stand on the pitch just so he could shout abuse at me.
Much later I had a call from him berating me for a story I'd put on the website about a new player coming to Rovers due to travelling being awkward to, I think it was East Fife who he was with at the time. Apparently that was incorrect and I'd taken the story from another website.
He did contribute a regular column for the website although I'm not sure it was actually him that wrote it every time. I got an email from his assistant once after I'd posted an April fool joke relating in some way to a tie up with a French club and Jim was apparently somewhat paranoid as he was learning French at the time. Of course I was completely unaware of this.

Of course I was completely unaware of this. Jim had a PR who would send me the programme intro etc etc. not saying he didn't write it but she would send it onto me. Maybe someone he worked with at the SFA, anyway Sounds like a brilliant job he has in America. Noticed recently loads of young Scottish footballers heading to America to do scholarships and play football in their college network. note to add the Chris Mackie interviews are brilliant. ( as is the Jamie McKenzie ).
