CALEDONIAN BRAVES 1-2 RESERVES A towering header from centre back Adam Fernie clinched a well-fought win against a Caledonian Braves side strengthened since our last meeting - and including former Rovers’ striker Jamie Watson. Rovers, with a number of trialists involved, dominated the first half, with the Back 4 in control, Paul Fee running the midfield, Julien Kouame causing havoc in the wide areas and Jamie McVey, who opened the scoring with a sharp finish, a constant threat up front. After the break, Rovers increased their lead with Fernie’s finish from Kouame’s corner but a piece of untidy defending late on allowed the home team to score and, though Chris Smith didn’t have a save of note to make in the match, this gave them a lift but solid defending allowed Rovers to see out the match.
Team: Smith; Kasule (White), Fernie, Watt, Kasongo; Fee, Devine; Kouame, Dos Santos (Al Jamal), Sweeney; McVey. Sub not used: Grajauskas
