It would be remiss of me not to mark Terry Gillooly’s last match as the club’s safety officer yesterday with a few words of thank you on behalf of the fans.
Terry has given outstanding unpaid service in this vital role over a number of years. In addition to match day duties, he has also been instrumental in helping the club comply with all health and safety requirements. Not an easy job when you have a 102 year old stadium.
I have seen first hand the time and effort Terry has put in to make sure we still have a stadium passed to play and watch football in.
Like a lot of jobs of this nature much of it is behind the scenes and unnoticed.
So thanks for everything you have done for the Rovers Terry.
Ronnie

Fourthed!!
Terry you’re a legend and I’d personally like to thank you for all your help during the past 18 months or so with all the COVID stuff.
Hopefully we will see you getting to relax and enjoy the home games (as much as any of us Albion Rovers fan can relax and enjoy games) 😂😂

Am I right in saying this will now be an added expense to the club of hundreds of pounds a week?

A great BIG thank you to Terry for all his work as Safety Officer for the Club. As well as all the tasks detailed in this thread, I need to put on record his full support for the ongoing work of the Community Trust. Terry was a key player in helping us with the improvements we wanted to make - especially in getting the area behind the Coatbridge goals sorted and on its way to being a wee pitch and in finishing the disabled access to the refurbished portacabin (Community Hub) which is of course still shop on match days. Terry was also a great adviser on all things risk assessment and health and safety for our groups including Men's Shed.
Thankfully, being a true ARFC supporter we will still see him on match days.

His attention to detail has been exemplary and assisted the club in many ways. And above all he is a gentleman who is a true fan of Albion Rovers. My view is he should've been supported in this role and we will rue the decisions, or lack of decisions, from those in authority who have allowed this to happen. Terry I tip my hat to you sir. Now take your rightful seat with the young fans in the stand and we look forward to your drum playing and singing.
Thank you sir.

My mum has been trying to get him to slow down with his Albion Rovers work for numerous years but the board has managed to get him to quit in 3 months. My mum says thanks.

It would appear some are aware of something which the board did (or failed to do) which brought about Terry's departure from the role. Not for the first time I have failed to pick up on what may well be common knowledge. I don't want this to become a slanging match, but anyone care to share?

Thanks very much for all your kind words. I resigned around a month ago but said I would stay until the Annan game to allow the board to find a replacement. Nothing sinister in me leaving, I just do not want to work for this board of directors - but will always help the club out when required.

It’s very worrying that the BoD are causing people of the calibre of Terry to quit.

Adding my thanks to Terry for all this work, I think we all accept as much as we love Cliftonhill its a hell of an effort to get it through its certificate every year & beyond that the improvements over the last few years including the behind the goal terrace have made a real difference to the match day experience.
Hopefully now can enjoy home games a bit more now (although im not sure enjoy is ever the right word for our games !)
