Firstly, I only found out about the game yesterday afternoon and was busy all day so couldn’t alert fans…
After a disappointing 0-0 draw with Larkhall Thistle last weekend, the Reserves returned to winning ways with a comprehensive 4-1 victory over Vale of Clyde last night. Jamie McVey opened the scoring with an excellent finish set up by Ryan Devine but the home team then equalised from a corner. Rovers were dominating play, but slack finishing, determined defending and a couple of great saves from the Vale keeper kept the scores level until Julien Kouame linked with Jordan Morton who put his side ahead with a powerful strike. In the second half, Kieran Dolan added two more goals before the end, though, with all the trialists on from the bench, Chris Smith had to make a couple of outstanding stops to keep the score respectable.
Team: Smith, Fernie (Trialist), Watt, Greenwood (Trialist), Sweeney (Trialist), Fee (Trialist), Devine, Morton (Trialist), McVey, Dolan, Kouame (Trialist).
