I asked Drumpellier Cricket Club what they knew about Drumpellier football team, and they said that they knew nothing. There is a connection, their early seasons, according to the SFA handbooks, were played out of Drumpellier cricket club. Bucky is right, a lot of football clubs were off shoots of cricket clubs, something for the cricketers to do through the winter and keep fit. Off the top of my head, a few examples are Kilmarnock, St Johnstone, St Mirren, East Stirlingshire. Glencairn and Alpha became Motherwell, don't know about the steel works bit. I think alpha were a works team, in the same same sense as ferranti thistle
