A lovely, true to life article of a club very similar to us ....with larger crowds but the same ups and downs, mostly downs but some memorable highs. I'm sorry I never got down to see them there . They have played us at Cliftonhill twice I can remember. I think we lost both times one was by 3-4.

Don’t remember them playing Rovers, before my time I suspect. They were the “big team” that the old Airdrieonians invited to play the inaugural game at the Shyberry Stadium as it was then called.
That Airdrie side we all know went bust and York are now in the National League North which is the 6th tier of English football.
