Now the first quarter of games has finished it’s a good time to assess and looks as if we will be struggling (again). Don’t get me wrong there are very fine margins in this league but there’s no Berwicks or Brechins this year and the general standard has IMO gone up a notch. Is there anyone in this squad who can take responsibility and help this team grind out results?

Didn't look like scoring at all today. Very worrying after a good start to the season. Come on!

Watched the game on live stream and I have to say that this was a pretty poor Stranraer team given the standards they showed in the past. Given that we lost really does sum up where we are at present. Often coming off second best with the 50/50 challenges going their way. Lacked a bit of innovation up front and did not work the keeper much throughout the game apart from a couple of good attempts from distance by David Wilson. We are now drawn into a mini league along with Stenny/Cowden and Elgin and need to be a lot stronger both mentally and physically to get us through the crucial autumn/winter months.

We’ve got LB on the bench today but playing a 6’3 CB with no pace there today.
We’ve got a very good winger on the bench today but playing a CM there who has played RM,LM,CM and LB in the last 4 games. GK next week? No fault of his own tho doing what he’s been told to.
Was worse than last week just get the ball back on the floor like at the start of the season because I’m honestly not very confident in the fact that we get thumped 3-0 of Forfar and proceed to play the excact same today.
Stenhousemuir and Cowdenbeath aren’t going to lose every week.

Starting to look as if the managers clueless. Bizarre team selections, dropping players when they have an off day, etc. Everything seems to be a knee jerk reaction rather than thought out. No further comment other than at least we're talking about the game and not something else.

Think he’s much better when he’s pushed forward.

My worry is that we have the makings of a very good team, but the constant chopping and changing of certain personnel-ie-Wright and Roberts constantly being in and out of team, creates no fluidity within the squad.Looking from the outside in,it seems we may end up losing guys in January by"mutual consent ", as they are not being given a fair crack of the whip by the manager. From what I do see at the games I have attended,we set up to counter attack,as opposed to taking our game to the opposition.I understand tactically why in certain games we have to do that, but not having a settled left back or central defensive pairing just adds to confusion that surrounds what I see as a squad who can hit better heights,if managed correctly. Just my thoughts....

Personally I don’t think he has the defensive capabilities- much better going forward. Not that my opinion is worth much.

When we were on the good run of form at the end of last season we done it with Wilson at left back
We can't have a center half at last back

I would also point out neither of the young loan boys got near the ball on saturday or looked like they will
Surprised me they played along with a trialist when max Wright was on the bench

Agree with Ben - it's not a perfect fit but Lewis at LB is a much better option than Aldin. I think it's a tough one for Brian because you would probably put Fagan out there, but he's really stepped up this season at CB and IMO been our best performing defender by a distance.
I actually think our main problem at the moment is simply that as soon as we get the ball we just hit aimless straight punts up the pitch and let the opposition have it back. How are we going to actually score a goal.
If we could (hopefully) start with something like this against Elgin on the 16th, we'll win.
Binnie Lynas McGowan Fagan L.Wilson Reilly D.Wilson McKernon C.Wilson Byrne Doc
