KIRKINTILLOCH ROB ROY 4-2 RESERVES
Two long range strikes, the first from Jordan Morton to open the scoring, and the second a spectacular 35 yard screamer from Jamie McVey were not enough against the West Premier side, with the Reserves only losing their second match in 15 this season so far. Rob Roy equalised from a disputed passback decision then indecisive defending saw them 3-1 ahead at the break, but an improved second half display saw Rovers come close several times, with Ewan Sanchez, Ryan Devine and Paul Sweeney all seeing goal efforts blocked in the box before McVey’s goal and then create more chances again afterwards as they began to dominate possession against dangerous opponents. A really demanding physical match made more difficult by the forced replacement of injured skipper Paul Fee early in the game.
Smith; Watt, Robinson, Greenwood, Fernie; Fee (Taylor), Devine; Sweeney, Sanchez (White), Morton (McGeachin), McVey.
