To be honest it was a dire first half with neither team creating much and I would happily have taken that at full time as a point away from home Is never a bad thing. However thought we were the better team in the second half and their keeper kept them in the game with two terrific stops. Thankfully he couldn’t do anything about the well placed back pass and Docherty’s hit from outside the box. Far better performance overall from the last game I saw against Cowdenbeath
Not bad from a ‘shit team from Glasgow’ …. geography appearing not to be a strong point with the youngsters from the Pilton area of our Capital

They may well be all 'fur coats and nae knickers' but the good folk of Edinburgh City are doing their level best to keep is in Division 2.

Great Result !
First half we matched them and got ourselves into some good attacking positions but just weren't shooting ! I wouldn't be surprised if that was BR's entire team talk because we came out second half and just tried to test their keeper as much as possible, unfortunately he was on some from that it was going to take a fluke or screamer to beat him. Luckily we got both !
Thought we were excellent tonight , Byrne makes such a difference even with just his attitude chasing everything down and just looking like he's genuinely annoyed when things aren't going our way. Blair Malcolm at left back done really well and added a bit of attacking threat out wide.
Think its incredibly harsh on Cammy Binnie to get dropped , him and Stone are probably around even in shot stopping. That being said our distribution from the back was notably better tonight with Harry in goal. First half when we hadn't quite clocked who was in goal me and my Dad noted that Cammy must have been working on his kicking.
and Doc's goal - WOW. Him and Dec getting back to full fitness will keep us up !
On the Edinburgh City young team. Personally never felt threatened it was quite funny to have a load of 10 year olds run at you only for their defence to immediately give away a comedy own goal. But most of their behaviour wasn't on , throwing things and running about the stadium to get right in the faces of older folk and young women, i was quite surprised the stewards didn't do a bit more. One guy was visibly raging about it but seemed to not have much power to do anything. It was just strange to see as the place is usually like a library during a sponsored silence.
All in a great way to sign off on Anislie Park which had been a horrible ground for us in the past - 6-1 in our last two game !

Strong second-half performance secured a vital three points!
Thanks to all who travelled through to the capital to support the boys - driving conditions horrid on way back.
Onwards.

So who is the new signing mentioned in the aftermatch interview then? Sounded like Tom Something - couldn't make out the surname.

Hi DH,
It sounded like it was Tom Leyton to me.

Tom Leighton (defender) - left Alloa at the beginning of this year?

Good to see they're taking action against the wanabee thugs. It would have been nice if they'd apologised to us visiting fans too, rather than just "loyal home fans" as we were the target of their antics!

They really had to do something - that's the worst behaviour I've seen at a Rovers game ever. Was never really a fan of our own group and they did some pretty bad stuff - but nothing with the level of aggression and thuggishness that we saw last night. A lot of it was directed at our small band of fans and although many of us found it to be somewhat risable it was still way beyond the usual winding-up and totally unacceptable.
Having also been at the Motherwell v Aberdeen Cup game on Saturday where the Motherwell boys threw objects at opposition players and actually did invade the park, I think Scottish football has a real problem. Great to encourage youngsters to come along to watch our great sport but for many the actual game seems to be somewhat peripheral to their enjoyment and really just an excuse to engage in behaviour that would see them arrested in any other setting.
Also felt I was was back in the Students Union in 1974 with some of the aromas circulating around that part of the stand!

Having not been at a match since we last pumped EC 4-0, I was pretty worried coming into the game with what I had read/heard about the recent run. However, I must admit on the night I thought we were very good and looked like a mid-table side more than one worrying about the play-off place.
The first half we did everything well up until the final moment, we decided to do anything but shoot for some reason. I was very impressed by the recent signing Blair Malcolm at left-back. Everyone else put in a shift, esp Dec up top and he sets the tone with his effort. The surprise for me was David Wilson, I thought he was pretty laboured and poor on the ball (hopefully that's a one-off display as any other time I've watched him, he's been good).
The second half we were excellent and really played to our strengths and their weaknesses. The subs came on at a perfect time and I know Doc and Josh played with each other at St Mirren. You can tell as they linked up well and caused the problems. Doc's goal was a beauty, with the best view in the park behind the goal the finish and the flowing one touch move was worthy of winning any game.
Going by that performance + Tom Leighton signing, who has a decent pedigree and was really highly rated by Gordon Young at Cove to come into the side, I'm confident we'll move up the table.
On EC, Michael Travis has been the main guy for them since joining but he was shite against us. Acted the hard man and just looked like a total diddy. Was happy to see him score one of the worst own goals I've seen!

I was really disappointed at Edinburgh City's statement. Absolutely no reference to the travelling Rovers support and what they had to put up with. I've sent them an email to this effect. Might not have much effect but at least it gets it off my chest.

I don't quite agree with some of the criticism of EC: part of the statement reads "Everyone at the club has worked hard to create a safe environment for fans...". This does not refer specifically to home supporters and I think the statement is a decent response.

.....I think the statement is a decent response. We'll agree to disagree then.
