We should move to Broadwood rent free for 5 years and sell up the Sans Siro for mega millions to NLC as a deal. Included would be free buses every home game to Broadwood. Can't see such a top notch stadium lie without a tenant team for long. Money would allow us to build a championship quality team. During the 5 year rental we would source suitable land within Coatbridge and build a small purpose built stadium, coffee shop / lounge so we have a revenue stream every day, not just match days (aka Peterhead model) Just a thought or is it a nightmaređ Peter Good to see Peter still thinking outside the box. A few thoughts on his ideas. I doubt NLC will approach us to move to Broadwood, but if they did I would hope the BOD would reject it. We would not receive mega millions for the sale of the ground. Whatever we did get, I believe some of the major shareholders would be looking for their share of the proceeds from the sale of the companyâs only asset. I would predict by the end of our 5 year exile we would be in the Lowland League playing to home crowds in double figures if we were still going at all. The thought of NLC giving us a 5 year free rental deal at Broadwood is a pipe dream. The only idea I ever heard suggested involving the Council was for us to take over Langloan Sports Centre, relieving them of a white elephant. For good or bad , Rovers are a Coatbridge team and must remain playing our football in Coatbridge. Ronnie

This idea can be summed up in one word âAirdrieoniansâ.
The Diamonds moving to Broadwood was the beginning of the end for them as they searched out for the New Broomfield. Meanwhile they lost many of their fans, the money they did have dwindled away and the rest as they say is history.

I see that Open Goal Broomhill (what a hellish name) are now taking up residence at Broadwood.

Worst decision ever to flatten Broomfield: so utterly brainless. And to think we almost did it with Cliftonhill and move into their soulless dump of a Lego kit.

This a great thread but The Old lady of Cliftonhill cant endure facelifts for ever.
I always thought Coatbridge Outdoor Sports Centre would have been the perfect place,
It is possible to build a new stadium with character but it has to be in Coatbridge and we need to generate income which is not reliant on 1 home game every 2 weeks.

Access to the sports centre would be a nightmare!

I see that Clyde have identified a site in the east end of Glasgow which is owned by Glasgow City Council where they hope to build a stadium.
This is within a mile of their old gaff Shawfield. There are many hurdles including other businesses occupying the site before they could move there.

Where would they get the money for that? They have no ground, no assets, nothing. They have no chance, unless yet another council allows them to rent.

I think weâd rather take our chances than commit commercial suicide.

The club should go get him, he would get goals & thatâs whatâs lacking just now. B4 I get the great I am mob coming after me, just remember the club appointed a manager that had a conviction against him!! I am not 100% sure if a high court is the same as a civil court, but it was the later that he was convicted in? I am sure Chris will inform me of this đđ
