VAR for the SPFL.
Reading between the lines, looks like League 2 will get it (subject to the vote) but paid for by the top-flight.

Think we would be atleast 6 points better off if VAR had been used this season!
Penalties not given plus penalties (The r3cent Cowden and Edinburgh city games) being given against us for next to nothing.

Not at all what I read into it, Premier only it appears as it is in England. My other team Hartlepool United weren't too chuffed when they were given a bill of around £5000 when they played Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park in the FA Cup this season to cover a share of the VAR costs of the game. I agree though that we'd definitely gain points wise if it was used in league 2.

Will only benefit the big boys so see no reason for the lower leagues to vote for it especially if it is used in cup competitions and as has happened down south they get billed for a share of costs.

We could have done with it at Somerset Park, where the Ayr centre-half punched the ball forward in midfield. Or the 10-yard offside goal at Somerset. Or the...[need I go on?]

The vote is tomorrow and 75% of clubs in all divisions are required for this to go ahead. Premier teams will pay all of the costs and only their games will use the system. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/60987568

So if we played Rangers at Ibrox in the cup for example would we have to share the VAR costs from the money we make?

It’s not clear from the article, they might not even use it for cup games.

It would be interesting to know how we will vote. There is a piece on Stirling’s website explaining their board’s position.
One concern I would have is the money to pay for VAR will curtail the overall prize money pot that teams like the Rovers rely on.

Would be better spent on impartiality and competence training for referees!

Circa £180,000 per club, per season

As you can see from the article the costs are split by ranking in the premier with the top team paying around 3 times as much as the bottom one.
