OK, so I am isolating at home, positive on Tuesday, so too much time on my hands, so started looking ahead in the fixtures to see where we could end up.
We win our four remaining matches and end up on 47 points. Then we need Edinburgh to lose their remaining matches and Kelty, Annan and Forfar to win all their matches.
As long as Rovers and the three top sides keep winning, and one or two other results go our way then we are home and dry in 4th place.
On Saturday, Stenhousemuir are up at Elgin, a home win, Rovers beat Stranraer, Rovers progress to 38 points.
Saturday, 16 April, Elgin are at Stirling, a draw, Rovers win at Stenhousemuir and progress to 41 points.
Saturday, 23 April, Cowdenbeath are at Elgin, result does not effect Rovers, Stranraer visit Stenhousemuir, draw would suit us best, Rovers beat Stirling at Cliftonhill and progress to 44 points.
Saturday, 30 April, Stirling beat Edinburgh at home, Elgin visit Stranraer and win, Rovers visit Cowdenbeath and win and progress to 47 points and 4th place.
Easy peasy. Tight league anyway, Rovers keep winning and then we need a few other results to go for us, and after all of above Rovers in 4th, and looking forward to play offs.
You read it here first.

Get well soon Brian, and don't let anyone suggest the virus is affecting your brain with this message as evidence.

As improbable as this is - I think it's quite something that a team many on here had dead and buried (despite us never being bottom) are now safe and with only 4 games to go are mathematically still able to be promoted.
I can now say with a bit more confidence what I've been saying all season - we were never in trouble and we should be looking up not down as there are a lot of average teams in this league !
I think this is a seasons where positions have been misleading as despite being 8th or 9th most of the season we were often closer in points to the play offs than bottom. We are only those elusive "one or two key signings" away from having a team that could finish top 4. With East Fife (and possibly Dumbarton) coming down and Cowdenbeath maybe staying up. Next year could be the first "traditional" league two in quite some time without any of our "ambitious" friends. If ever theres time for resources to be pulled to make a fist of it I think that could be the time.

Get well soon Nanook !. That's in relation to your post and not Covid !
Only joking, great work. The Prof and Stewmelrover will be learning those permutations off by heart.
A lot of my frustration this season has been at our struggling to avoid bottom/ 2nd bottom spot when I thought we were much better than that.

Sigh...I already had those permutations all worked out, John Donnelly. But 6th place would be just fine! Just wait until you see my cricket stats after the summer!!

Fell at the first hurdle, same as my nag in the Grand national.
