Covid might have prevented us having a kids holiday football camp in spring 2020 and 2021 but I am delighted to say that our Spring Camp in 2022 was a resounding success.
We had over 40 kids every day for 5 days with a total of 67 different children across the week. Kevin Harper was our Chief Coach and he was assisted by Joe Kerr and Naveen Sivadas. They were great coaches and had a brilliant way with the kids. Week passed without incident! There was skill and learning on show and I'm sure the kids went home shattered - they worked hard while having great fun.
Over and above the coaches, I need to thank so many people for making this happen. ARFC for support and providing comp parent/child match tickets for the last game of season v Stirling Albion. This is how we help build fanbase for the future!
Also need to thank sponsors whose donations helped us keep cost down and provide a few additional spaces. As always, we could not operate without our intrepid volunteers and supporters: Stephen McEwan and David Crichton for promoting the camp, Isabel Agnew, our Child Protection Officer for ensuring compliance and safety, Agnes Quinn for help in making breakfast and of course - Ronnie Boyd for the millions of tasks he does as well as the £100 donated from his 50/50 winnings (no arms were twisted, honest). The week ended with awards of medals and Easter eggs courtesy of Kevin Harper and free tickets for Stirling Albion game. We have some great photos on twitter @arfccommunity and Rovers in Community Facebook page. Give us a wee follow - I'm off for a wee lie down!
