We had our AGM a few weeks ago on 17 May 2022 and I am delighted to update you all with the headlines!
Our Officers bearers for 2022/23 are:
Chair: Isabelle Boyd
Vice Chair/Secretary: Mark Agnew
Treasurer: Ronnie Boyd
Trustees are the above plus:
Bill Walker (founding member of the Trust)
Maggie Waterton (taking on responsibility for measuring the social impact of activities)
plus ARFC Director (who will join us this year still to be confirmed)
and delighted to welcome 2 newbies -
Tom Castles and
Neil Logan
This give us a good range of skills and experiences which will be put to good use in supporting our local community and of course our Club.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank those trustees who stood down after many years. Their support has been appreciated and their contributions noted.
Report and audited accounts for year 01/09/2020 to 31/08/2021 were approved and commended by the Board of Trustees. I will ask to have these post on the official club website in the Community space. This document gives details of the Community Trust’s contribution to ARFC in cash, goods and upgrades to environment which amounts to over £10000 in that period. We sponsor season books, created and furnished the Hall of Fame in the lounge, refurbished the portacabin to create a community hub as well as shop on match days with full disabled access, created a community pitch behind the Coatbridge goals and of course, we pay ‘fees’ to the club for every event / group we run. Fair to say, we had a difficult 20/21 Covid year but were able to make good progress as your community trust. The Thursday Club, Memories Group, Wednesday Walkers, Buddies continue to thrive and we have also had other successful initiatives for adults and children.
I hope you take time to read the report. It clarifies why it is so important to have a thriving community trust with charitable status who not only support the community but put much needed resource into the club we love.
We will be having a fans engagement exercise early in the new season to find out what the community need/want from the Trust. Watch out for us with clipboards - you have been warned! I hope you appreciate being kept up-to-date with our activities on here and in the matchday programme.
If you want to get in touch, message me here or email us on albionroverstrust@gmail.com – we will get back you.
Isabelle
