Yesterday's two services were fitting tributes to John, capturing his character and spirit accurately. The themes of faith, family and football shone through. It was great to see so many from the Rovers 'family' in attendance.

So sad to read that John's wife passed away a few days ago too. Only 33 days after her beloved husband. Thinking of all the Smith family at such a devastating time. 🙏🙏🙏

I enjoyed a lovely lunch cooked by Mrs Smith years ago, on one of my trips to Coatbridge. It's doubly sad when a partner goes so soon after her beloved husband. My deepest sympathy to Buchanan & Wilma at this time.

Thank you for the lovely messages. My Mum (Isabel) really was the rock of the family. Both leave a huge gap but we are content that they are together again.
