Next Saturday 19th November, to help celebrate the 140th birthday of Rovers, we're planning to organise a commemorative photo of all the crowd in Cliftonhill. Yes, all of the crowd.
At half time the idea is to ask the crowd to move into the side of the stand next to the Cafe. This is the side where the Directors sit. People with mobility issues can occupy the flat walkway in front of the terracing. This is entirely voluntary.
I'll be on the track facing the crowd on a set of ladders with camera in hand.
Once people are in place the idea is to photograph the crowd. The resulting photograph will then be offered for sale to everyone for the princely sum of £1.40. A fraction of the cost of a coffee and a nice keepsake. ALL profit from the sales will go to the Trusts.
It's entirely voluntary so if you don't want to participate that's totally fine, but it would be great to have as many supporters in the photo as possible.
There will be leaflets handed out to you as you come into the stadium to remind you what is happening at half time.
Also, please spread the word. Not everyone is on this Forum so your help letting others know would be appreciated.
Thank you! Iain McLean

Cracking idea! Good luck. It'll be like trying to get a group photo at a wedding times a hundred!

Herding cats springs to mind, do the folk have to smile?
I suppose it will depend what the HT score is.

Great idea to mark the Rovers 140 th anniversary Iain. Thanks for doing this on behalf of the Trusts. I’m sure the photos will sell well when they go on sale.

Would someone who has access to the club's Facebook and Twitter feed be able to copy and paste the info about the photo arrangements? Not quite sure who administers both accounts.

You could try leaving a message for the official website webmaster, Iain. The identity of the Club’s chief tweeter/facebooker really shouldn’t be shrouded in mystery. Reveal yourself, Social Meeja person! 😎

Thanks everyone for your help today - especially Connor who was on the microphone, Nick and Ronnie who were at the turnstiles with the leaflets, Gerry for safety, and Gordon for getting me decent ladders! I'll edit the pics and then try and formulate a plan to get the photos out to you...probably through the shop. Great crowd and a great result too. Thank You All. 👍⚽️📸

The 140th birthday photo is almost ready to get printed - but there's one person hidden at the back of the terrace, just in front of the Director's box.
Can anyone identify the person (see attached photo) and also give me their contact details?
Thank you
