Stirling uni are flying at the moment and will really fancy this, we'll need to be on it from the get go. Really important we keep the run going.

I’ve see a few shocks in my time as Rovers got dumped out the cup by so called lesser teams. Inverness Caledonian (before they merged and joined the league), Deveronvale at home which saw Jimmy Crease sacked a week later, Fortmartine in 2018 and Buckie in 2020 although that wasn’t much of a shock.
The worst has got to be Whitehill welfare in 1987 - Tam Gemmell had the team in for extra training on the Sunday after that one. And Sunnybank in 2010 when they Crazy Gang crashed. That was two poor teams we really should have beaten comfortably. But hey that’s cup football.
Moral of the story - don’t underestimate your opposition but don’t give them too much respect. Stirling Uni are flying high in the LL so you need to respect that - they bundled Darvel out of the South cup last weekend on pens albeit Darvel had two men red carded. That being said Rovers are on a good run and playing some good stuff. I just hope our lack of finishing doesn’t come back to bite us.

Tough game but if its approached with the same effort and quality as Saturday we will be through to the next round.

My prediction is 1-1 after 90 and a Rovers win of 5-3 on pens after an unproductive 30 mins of extra-time.

P.S. I see that OG Broomhill v Alloa in their cup game tonight at Broadwood had a crowd of 1403 which is pretty impressive. Incidentally Alloa won 2-1 with an injury time penalty before the game went to extra-time.

Even though they are flying in the Lowland league right now we should still have too much quality for them on our current form.
3-1 to the MIGHTY Rovers😁⚽️

Well done to Stirling University on reaching the fourth round for the first time in their history. A football and financial blow for the Rovers however.
Our focus now is entirely on the league: today’s draw between Stranraer and Annan was good for us.

Hard luck to Rovers the day in the cup, I think we need 1 or 2 players in the January window, that just shows you how far these lower teams have come, need to do better.

Knew that was going to be difficult, well done Stirling uni but very, very disappointing. Gaffer has to make a call on pens. 1 out of 3 isn't good enough and even the 1 against East Fife just enough squirmed in. Charlie's having a great season but this won't be helping his confidence, could do with a break from taking these.

Thoroughly deserved victory for the Uni boys today - they were more committed as a unit and pressed us from start to finish and created more chances than many of our rivals in league 2 have this season. We looked disjointed /hesitant and lacked a bit of creativity at times. There needs to be a reaction at Forfar next week as our recent league run proves what we are capable of- It is also a sobering reality check on the strength of the lowland league we are trying to avoid !

Best team won. Fair and square. They could've been 3 nil up early in first half. Just hope Reilly gets a kick up the bum and scores a brace next week in Forfar.

We’ll never know how good the Stirling Uni goalkeeper was because he was never tested. No pass marks for any Rovers player for me. A lacklustre performance which really hurts more so because of the financial implications for the club…not that any of the players care. Credit to Stirling Uni though, if Stroppy Charlie had scored that penalty you would have said we robbed them. A good bit of soul searching for the players and the manager now.

Best team won by miles. We were as bad as we were in that forfar game. Only the keeper can hold his head up for keeping the score at 1-0. Shameful performance. And find someone else to take the penalties.

Couldn't make the game today and hearing the updates and final score was hugely disappointing. From what I've heard we were never in it and to miss the penalty when we did probably sums the day up. Just hope Stirling Uni don't get a glamour tie in the next round cause that will be a sore one. Fingers need pulled out for the league campaign now.
