Just to change the tone a bit. 2 Early goals for us then hold out for the victory!! 0-2 If only I could pick the lotto numbers. Delighted with the result and performance! Off the Ball radio Scotland team of the day! First time in 70 years we have collected max points while on league duty!

First half we were well worth the 0-2 lead. Played some good stuff from the start. 2nd half we sat in a bit and hit them on the break, which worked really well. In truth it could easily have been 3 or 4 but good performance from the team. Happy faces all round.

Great entertainment today. We scored after about 3 minutes from probably the worst corner you've ever seen taken in your life. A kind of scuffed low cross into the box that ended up in the back of the net. No idea who got the final touch. Ferry scored the second from a wonder strike, proving that he can actually move the ball forward.
We looked more organised today playing pretty much a 4-4-1-1. The emphasis was on defence and getting the early goal meant we could sit back a bit and hold on to our lead. We contained Airdrie the whole of the second half but to be honest they were really, really poor. Not sure what they do all day in full time training but it doesn't involve practising defending based on what we saw today.
Their guy who got sent off for a second booking for diving was an embarrassment! You'll struggle to see a more obvious dive all season.
Probably the best 90 minutes performance from the Rovers that I have seen for a while. Everyone played their part today and it would have been difficult to pick a man of the match. Boydycosta is a real decent player. Just needs to know when to pass. Ross Dunlop was solid in defence. Ross Stewart had a couple of good saves - one in particular in the first half where he turned a great shot onto the post.
You could see how much the victory meant to the players at the end of the game when they came over to clap the fans. The guy next to me said its the first time we've beaten Airdrie away in the league for 70 years or something. No idea if that's true but he looked like he could have been at the game in person so who was I to argue!?!
Play like that every week and never mind staying up, we'll be in the top half of the table easily.

Only minus was it really really should have been more. 3 or 4 wouldn't have flattered us, wee chubby keeper kept them in it and some poor passing in the second half... Anyway - Ryan Wallace was my motm, what a superb player we have, must be awful to defend against him. closely behind him numerous players but I'll go for our superb left back today who played out of his skin - Mcbride. Also great to see Archibald back who looked really sharp... Onwards and upwards. Yas !

Great result and all round performance. The early goal had me worried - could we hold out ? Airdrie had some great passing movements but we remained solid. Could have got a couple more - but why be greedy ! The referee was fairly solid and wasn't fooled by the dive from Cammy Russell - although from my angle I thought he had pointed to the penalty spot ! Pity the stand side linesman was off the pace at times - we could have lost a blatantly offside goal - but Andy Ryan was snuffed out. Lets hope we have a big turn out next week for the visit of Queens Park - this result will hopefully stir the town !!

What a tasty win! Congratulations to the lads and supporters. Three points away from the play-off zone (whichever way you look at it).

McBride did well at LB but the problem with putting forward thinking players in defensive positions is that they get bored and start venturing up the park leaving gaps at the back. To be fair he was disciplined today and apart from some bizarre positioning at times he was good. Kyle might find he's out of the team for a while judging by today's performance.
Boydywandowski has taken possession of Ross's number 8 shirt and gives us someone who likes to go forward and run direct at defences. This has meant Ross stepping back and, today at least, taking Fish's position as a defensive midfielder. Seems to suit him well as his distribution is decent. He's not as aggressive as Fish; but then again who is?
So we've got options in most positions which is good. We're definitely more direct this year than in previous seasons and the pretty passing has disappeared. I quite like the direct approach if I'm honest. Although it works better when you leave some people up the pitch to aim at. We defended well but every time we punted the ball clear - especially in the second half - it seemed to fall to one of the baddies.

The boys were superb yesterday a real team performance from front to back and the pace and skill up front with Ryan Wallace and Stephen Boyd was great to watch ,they gave the Airdrie defence real problems, hopefully after last weeks set back this is the catalyst that gets the team moving forward, also to keep a clean sheet was just the icing on the cake, although Ross didn't have a lot to do in the second half he pulled of a great save in the first half pushing the ball onto the post and overall front to back we were certainly the better team and thankfully this time we got the 3 points that our play deserved.
