The supporters trust are delighted to be collaborating with Rovers in the Community to support and recognise International Woman’s Day.
The match day programme will have a nod to and in recognition of IWD.
Everyone identifying as a woman/girl coming through the turnstiles will be given a purple ribbon and invited to go along to the club shop to collect a complimentary programme and a raffle ticket.
The raffle ticket can then be exchanged for a complimentary scotch pie and hot drink at the cafe.
Each raffle ticket will also be entered into a draw, the draw will be made at half time and one lucky raffle ticket holder will receive a bottle of champagne.
We hope that all fans will share the word to help make this as success.
Thanks to Rovers in the community for their collaboration in this endeavour.

Fully support the cause. I'll assume the same will be done for International Men's Day in November.

I'll assume the same will be done for International Men's Day in November. I would never make any assumptions. The vast majority of activities involving the Rovers relies on a hardy band of volunteers and funding to make events a success. However, I don’t see why IMD couldn’t be recognised and marked accordingly. The theme of zero male suicide for 2023 is an incredibly important message and anything that can be done to raise it has my vote. I expect that it is close to a lot of people associated with Albion Rovers. You just have to look at the support of one of our former players, the engagement with Back Onside and the support of the Coatbridge Men’s Shed which in a lot of ways demonstrates this. I’m sure both the Supporters Trust and Rovers in the Community would welcome you’re thoughts and proposals on how to recognise IMD and would hope that you’ll be supportive in terms of your time and talent in making it a success. I’m also sure that someone from both Trusts will be in touch via the message board a little nearer the time to discuss the possible event further. For the moment though, I’m hoping you’ll be supportive of the event before us.

I'll assume the same will be done for International Men's Day in November. Why assume, did anyone ask to celebrate international men's day November there? Why not enjoy the day for what it is I hate "whataboutery" in every form, seems to come up in football all the time regardless of the subject

Edited my original post to please the easily offended. Support the marking of the day fully and also anything to stop male suicide. It doesn't help that men are denigrated at every opportunity these days. Was only advocating equality for men. Is that a problem? Seems to be these days. How to mark it? The same way.

Support the marking of the day fully This was all you had to say in your initial post, if anything Instead you made a statement which in a round about way was your way of saying you don't agree with it. Just say you don't think the club should be doing anything. If you felt that strongly about male equality why didn't you propose the club or anyone local done something at the time of international men's day. Saturday 19th November (I had to Google it was an actual thing pleasantly surprised it was), it certainly would have made me aware of it and I would have milked it for everything I could have got. Rovers were home to stranraer that day Did you do anything for it?

This could go on all night. I merely mentioned IMD and for that my comment is twisted into being against IWD. I always mark IMD. And now you can too.

Nice idea. Anyone that bothered only needs to "identify" at the turnstyle and you're onto a free pie, drink and programme.

Did you do anything in particular to mark the occasion, So if you weren't being twisted then why would you bring up a subject unrelated to the topic in question As I said it's pure whataboutery, and purely done to try and be controversial You mentioned international men's day and how you expect the club to do the same, so give me your reasons why you expect that of the club. After all you never mentioned it round about the time and have waited until the supporters and community trusts have organised an event for international women's day before you have mentioned your strong feelings towards international men's day

Yes I mark it as I said previously. How? Quietly and to be honest it's none of your business. It's not unrelated. I would expect IMD to be marked in the name of equality. I have mentioned it before. I am not twisted. Nor being controversial. Who twisted my words? You did. For the sake of an argument like you always do? Probably.

Some interesting videos on the history of the women's game for IWD - www.youtube.com/watch?v=_OQ9B0WWaLY www.youtube.com/watch?v=TPIiYNAF158&t=158s Nice initiative from the club I think anything we can do to make Cliftonhill a more welcoming place for anyone who wants to come and watch football but might feel a bit intimidated is a massive positive. This isn't a pointed question but genuinely one of ignorance on my part but do we provide things like free sanitary products? Stuff like this all adds up, I'm sure. Great if we do if we don't im sure its something we could look into maybe via the trust. I won't be expecting a free pie or programme on IMD but I have done some work in my job on both IWD and IMD so happy to help out. As Scott has already mentioned IMD is more focused on issues for men such as mental health and suicide, things where the club do already carry out a lot of work - rather than marking them both the same i'd suggest we done something in terms of raising money for charity or inviting a Mental Health Expert along to maybe provide some advice to anyone who wants/needs it. Anyway thats for November - as always happens IWD has been taken up by a bunch of men (me included) talking about International Men's Day.

Risking grief from some quarters but at least marking IMD the same will be easy. Just postpone the game! Seriously though a shame all that work went to waste due to the weather. Better luck next time. 👍
