Shock horror! I suspect the payment will be relatively low but quite significant to us.

Our season will probably finish in June 2024 at this rate ! Good exposure on the normal telly channels should get a good audience as only the banal One Show on BBC 1 !

According to P&B each team gets £1500 for being on TV.

According to P&B each team gets £1500 for being on TV. If true that's hardly worth it

According to P&B each team gets £1500 for being on TV. If true that's hardly worth it It may not be a King's Ransom, but I'm sure that the members of the Supporter's Trust who fundraise to support the club financially, the producers and sellers of the matchday program, the people who work behind the scenes on matchdays, like the pie stall ladies, the 50/50 ticket sellers Andy and Mary, the BOD members who bang their heads off many walls in their efforts to get £1500 from sponsors, will disagree with your views.

According to P&B each team gets £1500 for being on TV. If true that's hardly worth it People have a completely unrealistic notion of the kind of prize/ TV/ sponsorship monies involved in the lower reaches of the game in Scotland If I had to guess, I would have gone for a thousand to each team. This £1.5k will be a very welcome bonus to the club. WRB is completely correct with his remarks. Ronnie

For info, winning the tie v Stirling Uni, the draw for the next round will pit Rovers against one of the current League 2 clubs, or possibly (if they win their first round ties), one of the following,
Banks O’Dee, Bo’ness, Darvel, Brechin, Broomhill, Cumbernauld Colts, Brora Rangers, Berwick Rangers, Broxburn Athletic, Fraserburgh, Camelon, Inverurie Loco Works, Cowdenbeath, Linlithgow Rose, Clydebank, Cumnock, East Kilbride, Formartine, Beith Juniors, Penicuik, Pollok, Auchinleck Talbot, Buckie Thistle, Tranent.
Not an insignificant obstacle to get to anything like a reasonable money spinner against a top L1 or L2 club.

I forgot to mention, in relation to the £1500 payout for the televised Scottish Cup tie, that I was at the Caledonian Braves v Gretna 2008 match on Tuesday.
I deliberately sat in the second stand, which is usually used by away fans, and it was clear to me that there was only about 10/12 away team supporters. An elderly couple wearing the colours and some others who were clearly family members of Gretna players.
I was at the Clyde v Edinburgh City match last season. There was 13 away supporters segregated in the west stand.
Many of the original LL clubs have little in the way of travelling support.
On the other hand, I was at EK v Cowdenbeath last week, the stand was full, with no significant Cowdenbeath support (on the face of it). I was at Pollok v Benburb on Saturday, the crowd was 874.
That is what the Rovers are up against, the 'Junior' teams are coming, percolating up from the depths of Scottish football.
