Rovers are at home to West Park United in the SFA South Region Challenge Cup 2nd round this Sat at 3pm. Rovers of course won their first round match 4-0 at Newburgh of the East of Scotland League last month. West Park were given a bye in that round.
WPU are based in Bishopbriggs and have lots of different teams in numerous different age ranges, one of which has former Rovers gaffer Kevin Harper in charge. They currently lie mid-table in the WoS 3rd division which is tier 9 of the 10 tier pyramid having gained promotion last season. They only joined this league last season and I understand from our resident programme expert this will be their first ever game to have a programme issued for it.
Admission prices announced and they’re not in line with the rules of the competition so presumably they got dispensation to reduce them!
The fixture is pay at the gate, with Adults entry costing £8 while Concessions entry costs £4.
Concessions include U16s, O65s and Students
U12’s free if accompanied by an adult.
Season tickets are not valid for this game.
My prediction is a satisfying 5-0 Rovers win. Not that we shall need them of course but this match shall go to extra-time and penalties if necessary.

There’s some differences here: Twitter says under 12’s free but the club website doesn’t and just says under 16’s count as concessions at £4

Agreed stick some youngsters in to gain some experience. Give Fagan a rest too, he's always pulling up and came off against East fife.
An emphatic 2 nothing win and no injuries.

Will be an interesting watch on Saturday was down at the reserves game against Larkhall thistle who are the league above west park this evening at Daziel park and a much changed reserves team due to boys being in first team training did lose 6-0 but played well for a large part and imo if they had the boys who were in training it would have been a different story

4-0 but also a time to rest some key players and get others in who are on the fringes of the 1st team.

Agreed, Chris. I never enjoy ‘big team’ arrogance when we are the minnows, and I wince at terms like ‘shooty in’, guaranteed to fire up the opposition . The gap is narrower than some folk seem to think. We didn’t exactly stroll to victory against Glasgow Uni. That said, I fully anticipate victory, but it won’t be a dawdle.
