And our wonderful police leaning on the fence on the far side doing hee-haw about any of it. Commendations to the club today for the crowd organisation at the end of the match. Airdrie fans leaving by the back gate was good work for all fans. Why would our police get involved? A union flag or St George's flag is not a crime, Rule Brittania is not offensive? Oh good grief! Nazi salutes mate! Behaviour liable to cause offence, offensive behaviour act, breach of the peace or quite simply, its their job!

Gary Fisher, Mr Young! A no brainer! Absolutely spot on Jimbo. Should have saved myself a paragraph or 10 and just have said this! Keep up the good work d7! Your reports are excellent and I imagine appreciated by fans near and far. Certainly beats the pathetic stuff you get in the press. One Gary Fisher, there's only one Gary Fisher.... Young not playing him has echoes of his treatment of Ciaran and The Beast. His ego first, team second.

Agree that the behaviour of a number of Airdrie fans was unacceptable yesterday however can we be careful and not tar them all with the same brush.
My 2 brothers were in the Airdrie end yesterday with their respective partners and certainly didn't behave in that manner.
On to the match - Airdrie just about deserved the 3 points. Agree Gary Fisher should be starting every week as he is a class act. We could have sneaked a draw at the end with the missed penalty and dubious off-side decision.
A crowd of around 1,200 was good money for the club.
ONWARDS AND UPWARDS!!

If every fan got lifted for everything that someone found offensive there would be no-one watching football. Fans are over sensitive, at times going out their way to be offended, I'd suggest anyone who is offended at a union flag or England flag should take a long hard look at themselves.

So are you saying it's fine to make Nazi salutes? I didn't mention anything about English flags being offensive, but a bit strange to see them, and it was the self-same people who had the flags making the one-arm salutes. An odd combination at a Scottish football match.

How do you know it was the same people, standing near a flag does not give ownership, you have made lazy assertions,

Nobody over sensitive or tarring all with the same brush just pointing out (and laughing at) a particular numpty and his hypocrisy and in my case also the usual lack of police action. Nobody was offended by the flags just pointing out the combination of the flag with the poppy on it and said gestures. The gestures you never mention once in your posts instead concentrating on non-existent offence at the actual flags. He was part of the usual lot that embarass Airdrie wherever they go with their behaviour. A behaviour that you are defending. You can't defend the indefensible by avoiding the crux of the issue or indeed at all.

Everything has been more or less covered here on yesterday's game. I thought that Davidson, Ferry and Willis should have been dropped after the Peterhead game as they were really poor in that one but Darren keeps playing them week in week out. It was no surprise to me yesterday they played so badly yesterday too and I feel Darren has to be more ruthless for the good of the team and drop them.
We've only won 2 games from 6 at home so far and this has been largely down to our midfield being outfought by opposing teams. Davison and Ferry are too lightweight and are easily shoved off the ball . Willis missed two good chances yesterday , including one he blazed over the bar when it looked easier to score and his penalty was a feeble attempt. He doesn't score enough goals for someone who plays just behind the striker.
We only started to show passion after we got the goal chopped off. The ref's decision to chop that goal off was shocking and disgraceful as it was a perfectly good goal and it should have stood. I agree with everyone that Gary Fisher should be starting every game, I honestly don't understand why Darren won't start him as he shows more passion and fight than any of the other midfielders who started yesterday and we improved when he came on. Also Kevin McCann was on bench yesterday and hasn't had much time on the pitch since we signed him. He has played at the highest level with Hibs in SPL and I think he could make a difference to the team. I would to see him and Gary starting next week in place of Ferry and Davidson. Also Callum Ferguson is back from injury now so I would like to see him being brought in to replace Willis. Ryan Wallace was a big loss yesterday also.Hopefully he is back in the team next week!

Plenty of good points above about the game. Darren Young's overall record is beyond criticism but throughout his spell here we have been far too inconsistent at home.
If we start next week's game with the same line-up that finished this one (except with Mick Dunlop back in defence after spending yesterday's injury time up front) we will get what we didn't get last season - a home result against Stranraer, which will keep ARFC in a solid 5th place and importantly put us 9 points clear of the automatic relegation zone.

Bang on fergie. We were bullied off the ball at every turn yesterday. When that happens we don't have the personnel in midfield who can give it back - with bells on which would be nice. Unless of course we have Fish in there.
I also agree we need to give one or two others a chance. No disrespect to big Mick but sticking him up front isn't going to cut it. We've done that in desperation over the last three years when we've been chasing a game and it hasn't worked once; not once. It does my head right in.

Think some of the players were still recovering from the previous night after attending Alan Reid's race night. The whole team didn't look up for it from kickoff and Airdrie were first to every ball. Supposed to be a derby match but it was more like a normal saturday kickabout :/ Midfield shocking and why Fisher never started was beyond me. Defense looked dodgy throughout the whole game. On a positive note, results elsewhere went our way hopefully they'll get the finger out for stranraer and pick up three points. need to win our home games
