Hopefully the boys have recovered from Tuesday night and they can do what they done to Livingston on their own park, although to be fair Livi have been pretty consistent recently so I will hope for a home win and a nice three points to keep the league campaign ticking over

Full set of positive predictions again - excellent!
The guys were absolutely SUPERB on Tuesday night to earn us a massive and lucrative Scottish Cup 4th Round tie against Celtic.
Reckon with everyone(players & fans) still on a high we'll repeat our "Toni Macaroni" exploits and win 2-1!!
C'mon the MIGHTY 'Vers indeed!!!

Think Livi will be prepared for us this time and will no doubt be ready. But we have a few players desperate to claim a starting jersey. Difficult to call. A draw would be good though. 1-1

Bad result for Rovers today, thought we could of got something from this game, as by the sound of things Rovers player well, so whats this with another player getting a red card, that two players in two games now, thats not good, we need our top players playing.

Handed on a plate to Livingstone by the referee, who looked absolutely desperate to award the cheating dive from the 'full-time professional' player. Rovers battled like mad; utterly cheated in every way possible.

Shocking bit of refereeing to cheat us out of a deserved point. Defended well and while not too much of a threat up front we more than matched the full time Livingstone. That's what makes it so annoying that the fat linesman on the near side and wee diddy of a ref conspired to ruin the game.

It was exactly the same at Livingstone. Outrageous dive was awarded with a last-minute penalty. 90 minutes of brave defending destroyed by a shocker of a penalty.

How apt that Josh Mullin was wearing a balaclava in the warm up as by God we were robbed.. Okay he may argue it was a trendy 'snood' but we were worthy of a point today and ultimately were pretty much cheated out of it.
Overall the game was fairly enjoyable up until the last few minutes. Not a great deal of quality on show but it was entertaining. Played in the spirit of a cup tie I thought with the play raging a bit from end to end for pretty much the entire 90 minutes.
Chances were few and far between - especially for the Rovers - but we had a few in the first half. First fell to Ryan. Keeper Ross played a long through ball that wasn't dealt with properly by the Livi defence. The ball fell to Boyd and he fed Ryan who dragged his shot wide. Then it was Ryan's turn to play provider when he found himself in a good position inside the box. He probably should have taken the shot himself but he elected to pass to Ross Davidson who blasted over the bar.
At the other end a last gasp sliding tackle from Mick was needed to thwart a Livi striker who was through on goal. So a few chances at either end with the best of them just falling to the Rovers.
We played some nice football in the first half. We seem to have returned to our passing game and we had plenty wee triangles going on which was quite pretty at times and actually quite effective too. Livi on the other hand played long ball after long ball and that was their approach the entire game. I did expect a bit more from a full time team but hey ho. They got the 3 points so they'll not be caring what I think.
Into the second half and it was kind of more of the same. Still fairly entertaining and a few more chances. Ryan had another good chance just into the second half when he dragged a shot well wide with his weaker left foot - nearly went out for a throw in; you get the picture. Meanwhile Livi's direct approach was paying dividends in creating a few chances. Most of their efforts however were restricted to fairly long range shots from outside of the box. And none of them really troubled Ross.
The game was petering out and looked destined to end 0-0 when the ref obviously remembered he had this down on his fixed odds as an away win. The ball got played into their striker in our box with his back to goal. Ross Dunlop approached him from behind and if there was the merest of contacts then that was all there was. Nevertheless the clown with the whistle pointed to the spot. It was an unbelievably bad decision but he wasn't going to change his mind. In truth I was at the other end of the ground so didn't have the best of views but the Livi forward certainly made the most of it. After a few bookings the penalty was duly despatched and that was 1-0 with only about 2 minutes left to go.
We stuck Mick upfront for the last 2 minutes cos that always gets us a goal but to be fair it was just a desperate last roll of the dice at that point and I might have done the same thing myself. There was still time for Reidy to be sent off right enough and personally I blame Fish for that. A loose ball in the middle of the park should have been cleared by Fish but he just left it to the Livi player. As he advanced, Reidy brought him down - which was a fair enough decision by Reidy given that the guy would have been through on goal. Having just been booked a minute beforehand he clearly knew it was his turn for first use of the soap and he was walking before the whistle happy moron had his card out.
Ryan won man of the match and that was fair enough. He worked hard all afternoon and was quite a handful for the Livi central defenders - without ever looking like scoring I'm afraid. I would have given it to Ross Dunlop as I thought he had a good game. He won plenty in the air and also played some nice stuff on the deck, setting up a few moves and making some ranging runs forward. Apart from that everyone had a decent enough game with only maybe Fish, strangely for him, not having one of his better games and as for Willis after a few misplaced passes in the first half, he was okay today. No real stand outs and no real villains either.
Crowd was 413 and I expected a few more Livi fans - there weren't many of them at all. Can't say I'm surprised right enough now that I've seen them play as I wouldn't want to watch that dross week in, week out.
Plenty cries of 'cheat' at the ref at the end which was a bit unfair maybe. I don't think he was cheating; just completely and utterly incompetent. Really the standard of refereeing in this country is shocking from the top down, and when you see how poor the supposed 'top' refs are, you know the standard we are getting at our level is going to be dire. And dire he most certainly was. The real cheat for me was the Livi player who bought his side a penalty. If the highlights show he was indeed machine gunned to the floor and I missed it then I'll come back on here and take everything back.
So Livi are top and our nearest and dearest continue their good run and are close on their heels. It's a bit tight down where we are. Can't wait until we play Stenny and QP again and get a few more points on the board at their expense and hopefully open up a wee morale boosting gap. There was hee haw between ourselves and Livi today and if you were a neutral you wouldn't really have known who was the full time team. They had a bit of pace and looked quite a big, strong team although to be fair they weren't too physical. We played the better fitba but they are away home happier.

Still scratchin my head, what did the ref see? Hope highlights can show if there was any real contact. Agree....we matched the full timers with both fitness and fitba. Although sometimes give the ball away too cheaply. Onward and upwards!!
