First of all let me say that i dont grudge paying money to see the boys, especially as we have a lot of players who give 100% every week.
Noted that the club have also slashed prices for christmas eve to £5 (adults),,most likely to try get some sort of attendance given the day it is though.
However with all that in mind in recent weeks it has cost me £12 for Hampden,,£12 for Stenny last saturday,,and im sure Livingston were also £12,,Yet it costs me £14 for a home game at cliftonhill.
The £2 difference annoys me more because in recent weeks ive been told that our stadium is inadequate, outdated,a safety hazard, and has a severe lack of facilities. Going by these facts you would think we would be cheaper if not at least on a par with other grounds.
If there is a substantial amount of money made from the cup tie will any of it be spent on improving facilities at cliftonhill? or will the loyal fans be expected to pay more than our league counterparts to stand in an inadequate outdated arena?

Superb post, hit the nail on the head throughout. If we can finally purchase some hand soap and paper towels with the Celtic profits I'd probably take that.

Very fair points made there Andy. Agree that our facilities could be much better in view of the admission charge. Sure the Club will look into this aspect once the income has been tallied up.

Personally I'd be happy to pay the £2 premium if it means we can retain the quality of player that will keep us in this league and enjoy the success we've had in the last few years. If the price to pay for this is having to compromise on a bit of comfort then so be it. A sad fact is that we don't have a huge fan base so I guess that's what puts the onus on the rest of us to dig a bit deeper.

This is the nub of it - success comes at a price (unless you're Paul Martin, who could have fed the 5,000 with a loaf to spare) But beware that fans willing to pay £14 per game (or £180 a season ticket) won't be around forever and neither will Darren Young, so the club must be ready to adapt accordingly.

So we've had a go at the venue for the cup tie, those who run the bus, admission prices and the ground. Anything else? Wonder what pleasure some get out of going at all. Tis clearly the season of goodwill. Merry Christmas!

Tis clearly the season of goodwill. Merry Christmas! Wasnt going to bother replying to this but seen as im here i will point out that its a general discussions board for good and bad and everyone has an opinion of their own. As for the venue my only gripe is that it was moved in the first place,,home means home (in my opinion). Admission prices,,if you read my whole comment its clear i dont grudge paying the money but i only asked the question should we pay more than other league 2 fans who have better conditions. Also id like to add that we ask away fans to pay more to enter our ground and either sit on a seat covered in pigeon shit or stand in puddles on red ash,,,,if thats what we had to travel to i dare say there would be a fair few complaints from our fans. I also asked would any money be spent on cliftonhill,,and given the slum like condition our toilet is in i think it was a fair question to ask. And finally what pleasure do i get from going,,,,,, (other than moaning) it has to be the succulent pies and warm italian coffee on offer at half time, and the silky free flowing football followed by 2 aspirin and a lie down in a dark room. Merry Christmas one and all (is it ok to wish folk a merry christmas on here) ps,ive not said what i think of the cup ticket prices yet
