Saturday 26th July LL v Cumbernauld Colts home k-o 3pm Admission Adults £11, Concessions (OAPs, Students, People not in work, 14-17 year old) £6, Under 14 £3, Carers free Pay at the gate cash or card Season tickets valid Bar open from 1.30-3.00 and after the game until 5.30 (last orders)
I'm tempted to call them Cumbernauld Rovers as they've signed several players from us. It's the first competitive fixture of the season and very difficult to predict so we'll just have to wait and see. Rovers may still have a trialist or two in the squad, for the record in the LL a trialist can play 5 times for a club and a maximum of 4 can be in a squad for a league game.

Imagine a doing will be in store for us.
Hopefully some of the trialists will sign before saturday!

I neglected to mention that Captain Alan Reid shall miss this game (and probably the East Stirling game on Tuesday) due to the red card he received against Celtic B in the final game of last season.

Looked like it was a great game today, with the 3-3 draw, a good point for Rovers to start us off for the season 👍

Good competitive game. Both teams controlled different parts of the game.
I was expecting a doing. We fought and fought. First two of our goals were great.
Great end to the game and a draw was probably fair.
If we play like that for the full season, we will do better than most are expecting.

What he said ☝🏻 Just need a wee bit of composure as we were guilty of giving the ball away. It was a wee while until we realised get the ball to Sir Lancelot’s feet… just watch him go. My first time seeing the new team- did ok in parts . Defence was really ropey at set pieces, I’m hoping that settles when Reidy comes back. But there’s enough there- No 2 was excellent, Tony Garth definitely has something about him- great finish for the second goal and the Killie loanee who came on the second half- Marchant looks a player.

Really entertaining game. Not that much between the sides. Rovers team is a considerable improvement over last season. And the season before. Granted, it's one game!
No 11 - Lancelot Pollard took his goal well and should have had a second when through 1 on 1 with the keeper. He's very skilfull and pacy. No 14 - Tony Garth took his goal well with a cracking turn and shot. He's a proper handful to defend against.
Defensively we were a bit soft and the goals conceded are a bit of a worry. Might be better when Reidy returns.
Coming from behind three times is quite an achievement and hopefully says a lot about their character.
On today's showing, it could be a decent season. Granted (again) it's one game.
There will be far worse teams than the Rovers in this league.
Special word for the referee who was 100% terrible.

Good summary, gutted I missed it, stuck in Ireland playing cricket. I saw two of the friendly matches and those new boys are very exciting to watch. I said to a few folk after the St. Mirren match that we just need to outscore our opponents, as the defence did look a bit shaky, but going forward we looked very good. Nonetheless, a great result to start with, and the new signings are a joy to see. Let's get stuck into Shire in midweek!!

Quite a lucky break today with the last minute goal as the linesman put his flag up when the pass came into the box but the ref overruled it and gave the goal or never noticed the raised flag. Nothing wrong with a bit of luck. The officials were absolutely shocking today. If the ref disallowed he would have got serious pelters. The goals were good today though.

It seemed to me that the linesman at the end flagged the Colts defender for a handball and the ref let Rovers play advantage; from where the ref was, there was no way to miss the flag going up.
Anyway, there is obviously a bit of rawness to the team at this stage of the season but there were an awful lot of positives on display today, not least the spirit to hang in there until the death. I can't really fault any of the performances so won't single anyone out, but well done to all involved, both on the pitch (looking lovely!) and off.
And of course it's schadenfreude, but to bring this post full circle, I will never tire of enjoying a side spend a considerable amount of time and effort time-wasting and playing the officials only to implode with 10 seconds left on the clock.
(I await being bitten on the bum by that last statement at some point this season)

A rare event happened also with Rovers scoring 2 goals with the last kick in each half. I don't tecall this happening at Cliftonhill before. Good to witness this.

Ref let a lot go but credit to him for waving play on for our 3rd goal. Lino was flagging for a Colts handball.

I do hope those ex-Rovers' players enjoyed their return to Cliftonhill...

I thought we deserved more than a draw today. The chances spurned in the first half were great opportunities to put a real gap in the scoreline. Really saddened to see only a handful of Colts fans plus the usual committee types, one of whom was goading me at the end when they went 3 2 up and was screaming at me to continue asking the ref to blow the whistle. He didn't like it when the whistle was blown for our 3rd goal 🥳🥳 Great crowd today and a few new faces. Keep it up. Must applaud the media team for their efforts too.
If Carlsberg made Saturday comebacks......
My only gripe was the blinking wasps everywhere.
Happy days to be a Rovers fan.
Peter 😁😁

Very entertaining and a draw just about deserved. I agree with the positive comments about some of the new guys but think Devan shaded it for MOTM, always looked positive, especially going forward.
