Could be our biggest 'home' gate since the 1930s. Time for more research: when was the last time Rovers had a crowd of over 10,000 in a home fixture?

When Rangers played at Cliftonhill in the league cup in 1978 I believe the crowd may have been in the region of 10000. We lost that leg 1-0.

The crowd was given as 6,500 for that match. The first leg at Ibrox had 8,000.

I would suggest there was no more than 3000 at that match. I remember walking all the way round the ground in the second half - just in time to see Alex MacDonald red carded for swinging at Willie Muldoon right in front of the north terrace.

I would hazard a guess as January 1st 1955 when 13,000 were at Cliftonhill for the visit of Airdrie - from Robin Marwicks Boys of the Brig book - from then onwards the crowds for Scottish football started to slide not just for Rovers , but in general.
