Defeat, given the impending departure of everyone it would seem.

Im changing my prediction from a 1-0 home win to a 3-0 home win.
Not many folk in our changing room will want to be involved in playing extra matches in the shape of promotion play offs.
The timing of all this leaves a lot to be desired and could have been handled better.
So 3-0 possibly even more in my view. But peterhead will still drop points so we can still celebrate in brechin.

If we show the same hunger, quality, professionalism, desire, effort, strength, determination, athleticism, prowess, focus, discipline, competitiveness, confidence, aggression, commitment, endeavour and talent as we did last week ................ then we're rubber ducked I'm afraid.

VERY mixed bag of predictions so far then.
The last away game of another very eventful season looms.
We beat this mob the last time we visited Glebe Park on a dark Tuesday night so why not a repeat on a sunny Saturday afternoon??
I'll confidently predict a 2-0 victory for the MIGHTY Rovers to finally secure survival and send us all home happy on the Millers party coach!!!

Can't make today. Off on holiday. That usually signals a Rovers win. I'll go for an adversity busting 2-1 win for the good guys. All twitter updates gratefully appreciated.

Brechin are quite like us, some reasonably good performances followed by shocking ones, they could have secured play-off position before now and we did beat them last time. I'll go for a win as well, 2-0 again?

Hope not ... we have followed games like that with decent performances eg at Alloa.

Nice wee place Brechin as it turns out. Quaint wee stadium too, I liked it. Most of the early action today took place right in front of me at the Rovers end unfortunately. It gave me a close up view of Ally Love - no stranger to a sausage roll is Ally judging by the size of his @rse. An early Brechin shot flashed across our goal and just needed a touch, but fortunately none came. A couple of minutes later their winger left Reidy for dead before firing a shot just wide. And this was all in the first 5 minutes.
Eventually we got forward - a long clearance from the keeper was flicked on by Fish which saw Ryan clear through. He shot well but the keeper saved. We won a corner and the ball in fell to Willis on his weaker (!) left foot and he volleyed well over.
Brechin then had a great chance. A bit of a scramble saw keeper Ross not deal with a cut back and Brechin looked certain to score but Mick blocked the shot. That was very close! Then for Rovers, a decent passing move saw Ryan turn and shoot well, but straight at the keeper. Another good chance for Brechin when panic set in at a corner. We couldn't clear the ball and eventually Brechin shot wide. Then a wee clash of heads between Ross Dunlop and Ally saw them both down for a few minutes. Fortunately as it was their heads that collided there was no danger of their brains being damaged...........
Great chance for Theo. He nutmegged the defender and played a neat 1-2 with Ryan before finishing with a good shot that was blocked for a corner. Willis then had a decent cross into the box but although we had men forward, it wouldn't fall nicely for anyone. Final chance of the half fell to Ally who glanced a header just wide.
So a fairly open first half with plenty of chances. Reading that back it was a lot more balanced than it felt at the time. Brechin had the bulk of the possession and most of the play took place in the Rovers half. But there were decent chances at both ends with the better ones falling to Brechin.
Fair play to Prof at half time doing his best Womble impression - picking up the rubbish that had strayed onto the side of the pitch; good man prof!
Rovers came out early for the second half and it seemed ages before Brechin appeared. However it didn't take them long to get going. They won a corner and from the resultant cross their defender had a free header and it was 1-0. How many times have I written that this season? Do we not practice defending corners at training? Clearly not.
After that it was all Rovers as Brechin sat in. Ross Davidson had a good shot from outside the box that looked in all the way before the keeper pulled off a great save. A good move involving Theo, Ryan and Willis, saw Willis hit a decent shot wide. Another clearance from keeper Ross fell to Ryan but he couldn't control the ball and the chance was gone. Another decent move finished with Theo shooting wide. At the other end, Brechin saw a free kick pushed onto the post by Ross.
By this time it was again like the Alamo. Mick was pushed up top and got his customary hat trick. I suppose to be fair he won a few headers and had a decent shot but it does my head in. It got worse right enough when keeper Ross joined him in attack!! Quite funny to watch but really??? Daniel Lightbody hooked a shot over and that was really the last chance.
So 1-0 to Brechin, a draw might have been a fairer result I'd have said? Decent and vocal Rovers support today. Probably about 50 people. Plenty songs for Darren and I'm sure he appreciated them. A chant of "sack the board" too at one point.
An inflatable trophy was being paraded about the place - maybe depicting the trophy Darren won? Not sure but it had an eventful 90 minutes ending up on top of the hedge and then down the advertising hoardings below the Rovers faithful. Alas it didn't last the 90 minutes and therefore serves as a metaphor for the Rovers team.
It was clearly the day for inflatables as there was a pink flamingo with a Rovers scarf watching intently from the stands. Continuing with the inflatables/balloon-type theme, please feel free to insert your own joke at this point about the balloons on the park.........
A better performance this week than last but that wasn't at all difficult. For all that Darren has provided us with 3 really good years he has to take some responsibility for the dross we are watching just now. I mean, what formation do we play? Anyone? Anybody? I've not got a clue. We have 4 at the back. After that - it's a f@cking riot. Seriously. We have 2 up top. Then 3. Then 2 again. Then Mick goes up, so back to 3. Calum comes on; 4 up top. Keeper Ross fancies himself as number 9, and to be fair flicks on a header at a corner, so 5 up top. As for the midfield, absolutely non-existent. The game just passes them by. The ball pings back and forward past them, seriously they must have whiplash at the end of a game!
What happened to our passing game? Totally disappeared. We don't even play a long ball game, it is just a shambles. And I don't say that lightly, but it is true. There is seemingly no organisation and it is like watching puppies chasing a bin bag in the wind at times.
Man of the Match today - couldn't even choose anyone. It wasn't really bad as such, just disappointing and average. The end of the season can't come quickly enough and on the evidence of today's and last week's performance, the summer holidays have already begun for some.
Anyhoo, we're safe for next season. There is much to celebrate in that and well done to Darren and the team. Darren disappeared quickly up the tunnel at the end but a few of the players came over to clap the fans. Mick was one of them and he'll be happy at the Stenny result today as I understand that is where he'll be plying his trade next year. Just remember you heard it here first...........
