You'll doubtless remember Chris Cadden, who had a spell on loan with Rovers last season. He was featured in today's programme for our (Motherwell) game against Partick Thistle and spoke highly of his time at Cliftonhill. He also gave his old man a mention too who also played for a Rovers promotion winning side. Thought it might be of interest.

He was a really good player for us even at a young age, it's no secret that the rovers were desperate to get him back on loan this season again

Thanks for this Andy P. Pleased he has eventually got his chance and grabbed it with both hands. That's what it's all about.

No problem guys, glad it's been of interest.
Chris has really grown in stature since he was given his opportunity a few weeks ago. He'd had a number of substitute appearances under previous managers but it was little more than a couple of minutes here or there. It's only in this current spell he's enjoyed a regular run of games and you can see him grow in confidence each week.
He's played largely on the right and occasionally more centrally. He's looked tidy on the ball, keen to put in a tackle where required, fully of energy and willing to have a go at goal. He's also struck me as quite an intelligent player for his age too. Our second goal on Saturday came from him spotting an opportunity to take a quick throw in for example and towards the end he was savvy enough to fight the urge to go hurtling towards goal and instead held the ball up for a few seconds at the corner flag whilst waiting for support to arrive to waste a few more seconds between them.
We've a few youngsters out on loan at the moment at Airdrie and Ayr for example, I certainly hope they return having enjoyed the same boost to their development that Chris had whilst at Cliftonhill.

His first game for us he was on for 5 mins before he picked the ball up on the halfway line made a 40 yard run with it and only narrowly missed with a shot

Great news for Chris.
If I had a pound for every Rovers fan that told me we were getting him back on loan in January I would have about £75 in my sky rocket this mow

Congratulations to Chris Cadden, who played such a vital role in our league Two Championship winning side of last season, and who has now captained Motherwell U20s to a 5-2 victory over Hearts in the U20s Scottish Cup Championship at Hampden last night. Another medal to his collection !
