Wasnt at game today due to family wedding but Perry was outstanding in Dumfries last week. I hope this is merely a wake up call. Onwards and upwards.

Wasn't there due to work. Obviously Rovers fans who were there are going to be hard on the team after a 5-1 thrashing but interesting to note a number of Ayr fans on Pie and Bovril saying we looked quite good in parts of the game. A few positives to take then maybe? Onwards to Hampden next week then.

I enjoyed the game yesterday, good atmosphere and could see what the team were trying to do, its a long season and we just played the protential league winners, but was not a 5-1 for me and we should take some things out the game. Anyone know whe the Development League starts, my boy told me the newly formed 19s team beat Edinburgh City 7-2 yesterday away from home?
Was looking forward to see the talent we have in the development squad, but i also heard they may need to fold as the club is not supporting them finacially, just the first team this season, probably another rumour, as its really worked for the club with all the players including Daniel Lightbody and Conner Shields coming through.
I get the feeling from conversations yesterday that all is not that organised at the club, chairman just wonders around like he's looking for someone to speak to all the time, nice chap, spoke to him yesterday, also witnessed a few fall out's and near fights in the portocabin, by the way thats an eye sore and the only gripe i have from being away from Celtic Park this season is the facilites need a bit of a make over, but understand the gulf, but am enjoying the local atmosphere you feel more part of things.

There was sunny showers at Coatbridge for the opening league game, but the fresh Ayr was blowing too strong for Rovers. Terrible start and it was always uphill after that . In Moffat and Moore they have a combination that will frighten defences in the league and we will not be alone in getting hammered. We still fought to the end like Custer at the little Big Horn , but our mini league starts next week against Queens Park - they are the games that we need to win - anything against Raith Rovers/Ayr and Alloa will be extra bonuses.

5- 1 certainly flattered the visitors. At 1-0 we were playing some nice stuff and a goal for us would have made the game very interesting. Bad mistake and another well taken goal and its 3 and game over. We actually had the same amount of shot on target yesterday - 11 each. Just one of those days.
Would like to see their penalty again - pretty sure Bowman clearly got the ball - and their guy ( not for the first time ) went down like a dying fly !

Correct Tee I was at the Pie shop at the time and Bowman clearly got the ball and of course Vers should have had a pen before this. Made no difference to the outcome however.

That's the 3rd time I have seen Perry and think he looks awkward, clumsy and panics everytime the ball bounces in front of him. Young Lightbody was very unfortunate to be dropped for this game. Ayr are a good team but if we defend like that against everyone else we will be crucified. Thought Sheilds did well when he came on - very positive player. Totally agree think Perry is rotten

Yes, everyone thought with the cup games, Rovers would be doing great, but in this league now we have our boggy teams like Arbroath and Forfar, and also Queens park, if we play like that on a saturday, thats going do be a downers for everyone, the team will have to improve in the next 4 games, and am sure Brian Kerr will get the players ready for saturday game with queens park, also with one of the posts above regarding the chairman, if people come on the board and dont no what there doing then they shouldnt be aloud to do so,we need people here to improve the Rovers work when Rovers are trying to be a better team than previous season.

A few comments on here about the Chairman which I think are a bit harsh. I don't know the guy but he always says hello and does a PR-type role on match days which seems to me to be entirely in keeping with his no doubt unpaid job description. Just saying.

Ronnie is on 10k a month! Nah, I'll bet he even buys his own biccies. He's a great guy and was willing to step up when things were (very) tough and supports the club through thin and thinner.
