Rovers go through. Airdrie on Saturday. Simples! I got off the train from Edinburgh, following the twitter shoot out on my phone. Heard a huge roar when I got to Dunbeth Avenue: sounded like the Rovers winner!!

Really poor fare on offer tonight. cant think of anything really positive to say about it to be honest. grim is the word but thru to the next round and see what that brings.

A difficult one. If any of the regulars get injured in what is a completely pointless cup competition and miss an important league game I think the manager would get serious flack. This competition should be scrapped. Wouldn't scrap it but remove the u20s teams from it for me it devalues the competition

Not a great game, thought it would never end? lol Pitch condition did not help it seemed very bumpy, many bobbles, thought it looked great at the beginning of the season but did hear last night the groundsman was sacked after the Ayr game.
Looking forward to Saturday but hope its not another scrappy afair, was not at Queens Park but heard last night the passing was great, we should maybe see if thier groundsman could help us if we dont have one? They may be looking for a supporter to do this at the meeting tonight, anyone ride a tractor? I can bring my flymo if it helps lol.

As I understand it, the `sacking` of the groundsman was nothing to do with the pitch - personnel issues - believe he has been replaced.
Manager did the correct thing in changing the team that played on Saturday by using some of our youngsters - night to remember for Daniel Potts - clean sheet after 120 minutes, then two penalty saves. Well done.

The Spartans twitter feed is a good read. twitter.com/spartansfcSecond half we were literally camped in their half - just couldn't get that goal... Team pushed right 'til the end - so no complaints with the effort. Now I know what it must have been like to watch us park the bus in a good few games last season - pretty frustrating. Anyway into the next round and as above well Done Daniel - only had a few saves to make in 120 mins but played really well - great distribution of the ball and our first clean sheet of the season plus two superb penalty saves. Also mention to Jamie Gallagher for his wee dink... very brave ! Don't do it again tho ! couple of videos here >> twitter.com/AlbionRovers20s

Liked that comment on Spartans Twitter feed - "Extra Time played like an old pair of y-fronts that have lost their elastic - lots of loose balls. " ......LOL !!!

Well done. I thought the youngsters did well, but just thought the pitch look great at the Clyde game, also heard other supporters commenting on that at the time saying ots the best it has looked, then last night it looked poor and thought it was a bit of a leveler for Spartans who played long ball to a strikers who ran off sides all the time.

Was a poor game last night but i suppose that's what can happen with so many changes. It was good to see such a good confident performance from Daniel Potts was a highlight from a poor game.

More likely it will fizzle out

Of course if the U20s in this competition had turned out to be a great success they would want the `colt` teams in the SPFL2 as the next step
