I realise I've started this thread before our game with Spartans but the news has broken this morning that Airdrie's star man Andy Ryan has signed for Dunfermline. Should put a different spin on things on Saturday anyway

Indeed, from our perspective good news - but good for Airdrie as well as the fee may stave off administration

looks like their keeper has signed for Motherwell also and loaned back. Never rated the lad myself, but good business from Airdrie. He'll be MOTM on Saturday now! Wonder how much they've made over the past ten odd years selling players ?
Will be a tight game. Doesnt matter If they have lost a few players or not - they are full time and have the same (ish) squad as last year, which beat us twice at home. my Partick Thistle pals said they deserved a draw against them.

Should be a home win - this will buck the trend of the last couple of seasons - 4-1 - Spartans will be harder !!

Wise words. I have seen it all before, teams supposedly weakened. All it takes is for Airdrie to get their noses in front and then shut up shop. Their recent record at Cliftonhill is good. We really need to take this game by the scuff of the neck

According to "The Press" Nacho Novo is in talks to become the new Airdrie manager. For me the name Stevie Archibald comes to mind for some reason!

Looking forward to this game ...will be a good indicator on how the rovers will do this season I agree, but think it will be after the 5th game before how we see the league panning out, Arbroath and Forfar after Airdrie will be 3 balanced games to gauge where we will be in the league. I think the team has massive potential and are more enjoayble to watch than last season, play much more football.

This has sort of been overshadowed but I predict a morale boosting 2-0 demolishing of Airdrie!

I've never seen us beat Airdrie at home in their new form.... So hopefully that changes on Saturday ! 3-0. Victoria hat trick.

My first match of the season tomorrow. No predictions, but hope Rovers attack like mad.
