Can only see this game being replayed, especially with what happened with Livi last season

Livi player was registered tho. He was suspended and played. Slightly different scenario.

I wasn't at the game (thankfully by the sound of it). How much of the game did Liam play? The BBC article says he was on the bench but did he come on? Surely that would have a bearing on any punishment dished out.

Mcguigan came on at around the 72nd minute of the game and played the remainder of normal time plus extra time

Mcguigan came on at around the 72nd minute of the game and played the remainder of normal time plus extra time Thanks Albion. Think it might go against us if he's played in 40% of the match. Although looking at the club's twitter feed, doesn't appear he was a penalty taker.

Like most organisations the officials should be consistant and whatever was done in the past to other clubs should also happen to ARFC

sorry to hear about your club being thrown out of the cup and fined for an ineligible player . May I suggest your club appeal using the Sandy Bryson principle as used in the case of over 55 improperly registered player playing hundreds of games for rangers over a ten year period . scottish football is corrupt

Discussed this with my work mates, who follow various teams, in the office today and most of them agreed with myself that we have been very harshly treated here.
Thought the worst we could have been told was to replay the game however to disqualify us from the competition and fine us £2,000 is harsh in the extreme.
Mention was made today of whether the same punishment would have been dealt to a "BIGGER" team.
