Or is he indeed 'not such a stranger'? The plot thickens...O give us that previous great stability of businessmen chairmen when we nearly went bankrupt or, even better, almost moved in with Airdrie!!!!!

Just think it is a bit odd that we get someone who has left the Old Firm to support the Rovers, and he gets a hard time when we should be welcoming him, even if one or two of his comments are a bit contentious.
But hey, we all manage that from time to time.

For example, go back and look at the 'New Rover' posts from the Ayr United thread and then just keep going. Even at that match club 'insiders' were queuing up to 'unburden themselves' with gossip to this person who no-one has ever met...

Indeed the only person at the club who hadn't confided in newrover was the guy who used to clip Tam Fagan's cigars.

Early this year someone on this messageboard accused the same director of football of some pretty serious negative actions. I voiced concerns on the same thread and David, a poster on this forum, sent me a very courteous PM to explain that he found the accusations very strange and that he wouldn't speculate on why someone said such a thing but that he would never condone or take part in any unprofessional behaviour. I'm not at all a fan of the "DOF" model especially at small clubs, partly because I still don't know exactly what he does, but from the little I heard of this guy he's quite the class act. Thank you for the kind remarks, in answer to your question, the role was quite broad and I supported the club in many areas and as the chairman said, I even project managed the Celtic game as I inherited such skills from my time at Xerox, but I even cleaning toilets and washed the kit to name a few other tasks during my time at the club. I hope the legacy I leave is what you witness on the pitch, the model we have was proposed by myself and accepted by the board after Darren decided to move on. My role was the interface between board and the football element of the club to support the manager in any capacity to deliver a competitive team within the provided budget. Although the manager and I agreed on the model, all the credit must go to Brian Kerr, he has put together a squad which is both competitive and plays attractive football, only time will tell but I think the signs are positive, Brian has a bright future and I wish him, his management team and all the squad my best wishes for the rest of the season. Here's Caldwell taking credit for the model used by Brian Kerr ........oh wait we got relegated that season.
