Disappointing score; against full-time league leaders remember. Oh well.

Everyone played well today and unlucky not to get a deserved point. First time I've seen a goalie booked for diving. Always a first time for everything.

Spoke to an Ayr fan on way back to the car and he summed it up saying the game could have went either way. True the defence has issues, looks easily panicked at times and has next to no pace which got exploited as the game went on and we got tired. We are at least scoring goals, the first a cracker today, and it might have been different had Trouten done better with his one on one. Today was a shot at nothing and we done well. Next week we are at home and it’s a game we really need to win.

Another glorious defeat. Defeats against Queens Park, Forfar and chucking a 2 goal lead against East Fif now coming home to roost. What a disastrous 2nd quarter this has been.

There must be some golden era of ARFC which I am missing. When was that after all this disaster?

Decent game but I thought Ayr were worth the win over the piece. Their first goal kinda came against the run of play but it was well worked. They also hit the post and had a goal chalked off (rightly) in the second half for offside. Rovers also cleared a couple off the line. Ayr will know they were in a game right enough.
Rovers first goal was comical with their keeper completely out of position. Higgy finished well though. Trouts had a gilt edged chance to make it 2-1 but had waaaaaaaaay too much time to think about it before blasting it over.
Stand in keeper Potts did really well I thought. Scotty McLaughlin had a great game too. Holmer does the simple stuff well. Ross looked right up for it today too. Decent performances all round to be fair. Probably get slaughtered for this but couldn't care less really - thought Connor's first touch deserted him today, particularly in the first half. Good work leading up to Trouts goal though. Victoria was fairly anonymous when he came on.
Ayr no 17 Shankland is a handful and got man of the match - deservedly so.
No idea what happened to Bowman and decent keeper though he is, he might struggle to get his place back after today.

One of the best rovers performances in a while. Deserved at least a point. Time to make performances count here on.

Rovers played VERY well yesterday against a very strong Ayr United team. We were taking on the league leaders on their own patch so were always facing a daunting challenge.
Thought we were very unlucky not to at least take a point.
Play like that for the rest of the season and we'll have no problems staying up.

For the avoidance of doubt that’s 1 point from our last 5 games.
Yesterday’s game doesn’t really matter to a certain extent-it’s the games against those teams below us or on a par with us which will count.

Posters on P & B saying Bowman has chucked it.......any comments ? Don’t know about Bowman but with the January window just about to open it’s time to separate the wheat from the chaff.

I mentioned in an earlier post that the wins over Raith etc were money in the bank 'cause we would go through a barren spell, well its arrived and aren't we glad we got those wins....wouldn't start panicking yet, we are still creating chances
