Michael Hardy - last week's trialist and motm - was playing for his home club in the cup today and so was absent. Be good to get him back too.

Oh, and the referee was QP's motm today. What an absolute t1t. Gave the Rovers hee haw. Couldn't wait to book Escuriola whilst letting QP away with everything. Moron.

Well certainly signs of optimism from a real shitty first half against Clyde they have performed well in the last 2 and a bit games. First half today I thought they were excellent, apart from the corners which were extremely well retaken and would have troubled most defenses. Second half I think we lost the attacking midfield mindset of the first quite probably down to fitness, (Young Gerard, who for the rest of my season will now be called Cesc, was as good as I had been told and he made a big difference), certainly faded in the second half. (That’s what too much of maws home made tapas over the festive period will do to you) and it wasn’t a surprise they equalised. Yet a couple of late chances might have swung it out way. Regardless of what’s went before, today is the proper start of the new managers season. He has brought new guys in and got rid of some of the ones Brogan brought in. He has a tough ask to peg back the teams above us but I think there is wins in this team.
Can I also say in the 2 games I’ve seen him play in the position I think Wharton has done really well, his misplaced pass today apart, sitting just in front of the back line has stiffened us defensively and although he wasn’t much pleased at coming off for us to put another player up top it was always going to be him that got taken off.
7 points off the next worse team all of a sudden doesn’t sound that far away

Good start tough gutted didn’t get the win, 5 points would’ve had Berwick looking over their shoulder. If Kevin pulls this off there should be a statue of him built at the front gate

By far our best performance of the season from what I have seen and really we blew it by missing a couple of sitters at the end. All the new boys did well , we finally showed some fight and for the first time our defenders were throwing themselves at everything. QP bossed the second half but teally only created half chances. Wharton had a decent game but that was a terrible misplaced pass that led to the equaliser. What a shame we couldn't capitalise on Berwick's defeat - building a team for the relegation play off is the only realistic strategy at this time

They’re 7 points ahead of which 6 came from beating us, if we win the 2 games against them, you’re in with a shout as they’re rotten. We’re unbeaten in 2, think positive

It could really have gone either way at the end with chances for both sides. Think it was Byrne who was through 1 on 1 with the keeper but hit the ball straight at him. That's what you get at this level. After that QP had a good chance but what was great for me was the fact there were THREE Rovers defenders blocking him out!
Wharton is good but that's not the first time he's cost us a goal. When he does the simple things, he's decent. I think in his head though he thinks he's Beckenbauer with some of the passing he attempts.
Another thing that annoys me is the deliberate long punt that goes out of play at the corner flag straight from the kick off. It pins the opposition back in their own half but it's hard to take a team seriously above 4 a side who employ this as a tactic. We're not the only ones that do it btw.
Having said all that for the first time yesterday - and I know it's only one game - they looked like a side who were capable of competing at this level and giving other teams a game. That is a huge positive over anything else we've seen.
Berwick's recruitment will be of interest but so too will Spartans, EK and that mob Ferguson is managing. They're never going to have a better chance of making it into the SPFL than this season. They might just splash a few quid around and take a chance.

Be good to get him back too. his parent club ( Drumchapel United) have wished him all the best for his step up to Albion Rovers on Twitter. Also heard the keeper was released from Motherwell on Friday night. Leaving him without a club so had to play as a trialist. We should break the bank to sign him for rest of season.

Agreed; young PJ has made a difference. Excellent keeper.

Well done to Jaydee for helping the 2 QP players who clashed heads. Looked well nasty. He didn't have to do that. It was a real nasty one, the No8 lost 4 teeth and the centre half had a really nasty gash on the top of his head. Apparently only 1 of his teeth were ‘saveable’, hardly surprising as they were really quite jagged when I was looking at him. 🙈🙈

Robert is back in training, this has been a chronic injury that he thought had healed when he joined but had flared up again. We have had to carefully manage him through it, but he’s not too far away from being available. 👍🏼
