One more game to get this sorted out before the cup games,Kevin need to sort out which is his first team, that's 3 friendly defeats and no wins, is it going to be like the start of last season. Really, Pre season friendlies are not going to determine our season, neither is the Bet Fred Cup. I think most of us are fairly confident of a half decent season and I’d be surprised if he didn’t know what his starting eleven is going to look like, but as it’s friendlies it gives him the opportunity to see what else he has in reserve.

Friendlies are almost pointless from a where we are perspective. Only concern would be, as others have said, is the lack of firepower. Manager ain't daft and he'll know that and hopefully we can find a goalscorer.

It's not a lack of firepower that's the problem it's the way we have conceded terrible goals that's worrying

Fair point. Havent seen them play yet but sounds familiar to end of last season when despite the great escape we did concede bad goals particularly from set pieces. Something that needs sorted.

Not to bothered about the defeats, think all the games have been really solid workouts for the players against "bigger" teams.
Would maybe have been nice to have one against lower opposition to get the confidence up but dont think itll matter long term.
We have lost a couple of poor goals but most of these have come in the last five minutes when the shape has gone and we've made 6 or 7 changes so cant really tell much from it I don't think.

I was quite impressed with t h e Rovers against Airdrie, especially Danial Potts in goals in 1st half. We almost scored a couple of times in the first half. Couldn't understand why Kevin changed defence in 2nd half as we were solid in the first half. I certainly see lots to be optimistic about. Biggest concern last night was the severe lack of Rovers fans. Where are you all? Prof and Jimbo were AWOL yet not in holiday. Tut tut.

3 trialists in the starting 11 last night yet the team looked solid. Some better decision making up front and we could've scored and not against the run of play. Goals came late on when several changes were made and players playing in different positions to accommodate.
Its warm up matches so not bothered. Hopefully a closer starting 11 on Saturday against Hamilton.
I agree with Peter thought it was an opportunity for more people to see how the Rovers were shaping up. It was enjoyable nonetheless.

Three narrow defeats against teams that would have ripped last years early season starting 11 to bits.

I would think that the gaffer changed the defence in the second half in order to get all of the squad game time. 👍🏼

Also why wasn't it a Saturday and the crowd would've been a lot more...

The reserves lost 4-0 at Ashfield tonight. They hit the post once but didn’t manage much more.

Passable against bigger opposition. Lacking bite up front and jury out on the keeper for the goals. Went down in slow motion. See how we do against our level soon enough.
