I watched a West Park game last season, was very impressed. They went on to win the West of Scotland Div 4.

Newburgh have already confirmed this will be a 2.30pm k-o on 19th August, they don't have floodlights.

Waw. Not often you have to Google who your opponents are but I just did it twice there.
Does it get dark before 16.50 in Fife during August ?

Some food for thought,
ARFC have been drawn to play Newburgh FC, of the East Of Scotland 2nd Division, in the South Challenge Cup. Newburgh finished 12th of 17 last season. The village of Newburgh has a population of just over 2000. More people live in Bargeddie.
If they get through that tie, West Park United lie in wait.
And here is the rub, they have a senior team, which we might be paired with, but below that there are 25 separate age group teams, from U18's to U7's. Not to mention 70 girls playing from U9's through to the ladies senior team. They are an SFA Platinum Award Quality Mark Club.
They have been going for about 40 years to get to that standard.
A former director scouted their U18 and U21 teams some 20 or so years ago. Brought in a couple of trialists from them.
Some 'interesting' facts, which indicate how far ARFC have fallen behind, even local amateur organisations. We have never been able to form a relationship with local kids clubs, mainly because we have never been able to help them financially. An individual was trying to change that a few years ago but it was clear he wasn`t wanted and he walked, along with another ex pro who came on board for a bit, who was an expert in all things grant funding related. When you look at the grant funding which The Spartans FC have tapped into, you can clearly see what we have missed out on
All of the above kinda shows how far have Albion Rovers FC have slipped down the greasy pole of Scottish Football

Anyone know what the prize money is for this cup. I take it’s next yo nothing. I see an advert on Twatter earlier for a commercial position to push for sponsorship for the competition.

I see that Rovers fixtures list now shows the West Park Utd match a week on Sat is a 3pm k-o, no surprise but needed to be confirmed.

I see that West Park lost 3-0 yesterday to league leaders Bellshill away from home. That was in the West of Scotland League 3rd division.

Although neither club has yet announced admission prices for this match on Saturday it appears they'll be Rovers usual league prices as per the rules and regs of this competition

It appears that the following are the teams who will be in the 3rd round draw expected tomorrow some time.
Not too bothered who we draw except not Pollok and preferably not another LL team, maybe a short trip up the road to Armadale.

I assume the draw will be live on Sky Sports with a major celebrity… who might well be slightly inebriated, drawing the home teams….. or am I still in the shower!!!!

I don't know what you've been drinking tonight but I want some!
The last draw was on Zoom or Teams or something similar and had a limit of 100 viewers, which for a cup with over 160 teams taking part wasn't too great and I only got in near the end of the draw and we had already been plucked out of the bowl.
