Match should've been allowed to go ahead. Pitch is perfectly playable now and the forecast was for the expected rain. Saw the wee steward sitting in his car outside stadium at 2.30pm wondering where everyone was 😁

At 11.30 when the referee carried out the inspection it was more of an issue at both goalkeeping areas. Iced and hard surfaces could have been problematic for all players.

As Hugh alludes to, a number of factors are considered before the decision is taken to call a game off. It’s not secret that Bobby takes the surface very seriously indeed!

I'm confident that the penny will drop for most in the next few seasons and we will be playing these games in glorious Spring sunshine.
As soon as I saw sub zero temperatures last night with it only rising to a few degrees above come kick off It's obvious these games are getting called off.
The days of me travelling through for a ref to call it off at 14.10 are well gone. Been stung too many times by that.

Football squeezed in to the Summer, where there is already too much to do, makes no sense. And anyway, when is the Summer?

I never bothered making a prediction on the EK home game as I knew it would be called off as used this as my source www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2652696 it has been very accurate with forecasts for Coatbridge the several years I have used it. So as it predicts 7 degrees for this coming Wednesday so would we not be able to play a game then? We still have a home match against Edinburgh Uni that was called off months ago due to cup game being played on the same day needing to be rescheduled. As Tommy mentioned recently there has been plenty midweeks when we have had reasonable weather and no games were played. As the forecast is for one degree this coming Saturday morning there is a chance our game against Cumbernauld could be called off, that's why I'm suggesting a game to be played at Cliftonhill on Wednesday evening.

100% Fergie. We should have been scheduling some of our backlog into Autumn midweeks months ago..
Nanook, we occasionally get freak weather in Summer but I think it's safe to say we wont have matches cancelled in May for frozen pitches.
I don't know what else there is to do in Fair Isle or wherever but the whole point is we are not going to football games anyway !! They are being postponed and probably rescheduled for February where they will run the same risk again ?
The Club must be haemorrhaging money we can't afford with these games being called off.
Fans are wising up and this old 'football is a winter sport ' rubbish isn't cutting it anymore. Fans are being taken for mugs with late cancellations.
If anyone needs any suggestions on how to amuse themselves for a couple of hours on a winter's afternoon that doesn't involve football feel free to ask.
