With all the talk of Winter Breaks from the B teams - Hearts had no problems with assembling a squad tonight and won 12-0 versus Edinburgh University - This may be a record score in this league - something for us to ponder when we face the Uni at home ?

Let's get a bit of perspective here. What right minded student is going to be playing football on a Friday night when you can get pints at the Student Union for 25p and still have enough cash left for 2 Pot Noodles and a packet of Beef Hula Hoops from the 24 hour garage on the way home ?

When were you a student? 40 years ago we those prices. Do Edinburgh uni have a similar set up to Stilring with scholarships for football? If not, if you are an edinburgh uni student why play for a team that'll get pumped most weeks and have to play on a Friday night. Surely you'd play in junior or local leagues.

No they don't have scholarship programs, People need to get this idea of Junior football out there heads, Junior football in Scotland is not a thing anymore, all leagues are senior Only around half the old Junior clubs retained there membership to the junior football association, the junior Cup isn't even a big thing anymore

Can non B teams refuse to play on a Friday tonight?
I assume that B team players are full time.
Playing on a Friday night gives the B team a big advantage over part time players who have to come from their work, apart from being knackered there is also the issue of loss of wages and upsetting employers.
And does the non B team have to compensate their players for loss of wages?
There are so many reasons to dislike the involvement of B teams, Friday night matches is another one.

No you can't refuse to play a fixture based on the date, Teams don't compensate players for loss of wages Celtic and Hearts b both share stadiums with league sides (airdrie and spartans), both these sides were at home today, and get priority so the b teams couldn't ply then, there are also women's teams who play at these stadiums on a Sunday, hence why the b teams had to play on a Friday Same situation as edinburgh city at Ainsley Park
