A group of 20 Syrian Refugees will be coming along to the Brechin Game on Saturday They are part of the group of 11 Syrian families who have settled in Coatbridge and Airdrie . They arrived in mid December and are now learning English and settling into the community . They are all looking forward to their first visit to the Rovers . Hopefully they will become part of our support . So just asking everyone to give them a warm and friendly welcome to Cliftonhill.

Any potential players amongst them ? If so tell them to get a pair of boots - they might get a game.

I'm sure they'll learn some new English words and phrases right enough. Be good to see a few new faces at the game and hopefully they'll like it enough to come back week after week.

Just to clarify a few points on this issue . This is a joint initiative between the trust and the club. As we are a community club we are inviting the refugees as they are new to our community and should be welcomed, hopefully to be come part of our support.

Are they paying into the game? I would guess they would be. The club made it clear at the beginning of the year that they couldn't afford to let the children of Coatbridge in free anymore even WITH a paying adult. If the money isn't there it isn't there. Whatever the answer lets hope they have a decent day at the game Just read deerboys comment, guess that means no. As I said lets hope they enjoy it regardless.

Community club eh? The club should be letting children in for free. They should be targeting local schools. Me and my boy travelled all the way up to Peterhead last saturday and I paid £12 to get in and my boy got in for nothing because he's under 12. There is at least another 3 clubs in this league that have the same setup for kids. I'm fortunate to be a season ticket holder but I pay £4 to get my boy in. There are fellow fans I know that fork out £14+ to see a game because they may have kids. The trust needs to be more engaged with supporters and update them on any future initiatives. I will be attending the trust meeting on Thursday night and raising this point. A little bit of communication goes a long way....Not all supporters use this forum and the website is out dated. arfctrust.co.uk/The last post was the 8th February last year. Not overly impressed by the above initiative either as I can't see any of them paying £14 or more to watch the rovers again. That will be interesting as £14+ is a lot of dosh for current rovers fans and especially for a Syrian refugee. Sorry if this offends anyone but it's my opinion and i'm entitled to it.

You're correct - you're entitled to your opinion as is everyone else. Agree on the point about kids getting on free, but would point out that Trust do not set the admission policy but the club does. Maybe the new Commercial Manager will takes your views back to the Board. On the point of the Syrian refugees- they should be welcomed whether they pay in or not. After experiencing the San Siro they might want to return to Syria !! Boom boom

The Syrian refugees will be coming to the game as guests so will not be paying into the club.
Will be great to get them into the club and more importantly into the community , ive spoken to a few people in my work who are working with them and its unimaginably difficult them to come to a strange new country and to try and assimilate into the community.
Lets hope they have a good day , a good welcome and maybe even a win !

This has been a good and open discussion . I can assure you that the Trust will be active in the debate with regards to pricing of tickets next season. Children must be encouraged as young supporters are essential to our future But the invitation to the refugees is a separate issue and is basically an offer of support to people who have suffered terribly due to a civil war But would be great to see this passion channelled into positive action and support through joining the trust and being active in working in improving the club that we all love and support.

Apologies to anyone if my wee rant was over the top. Especially to deerboy, I'm passionate about the club and really enjoy attending every week with my boy. (home and away) I want to be more involved in terms of helping the club progress on and off the pitch. Frustration was playing a part like all fellow supporters Sorry guys but needs must and someone has to speak their mind... Hopefully the trust and the board understand this.

Honestly. These people have escaped horrors that we in this country can only imagine.
If the fact that they are being invited to the game as guests of the Club is very honourable and the right thing to do.
If the fact that they are not paying admission fee rankles with some then I find that really sad.
I am working tomorrow so cannot be at the game but I will gladly send a cheque for £14.00 to the club to cover the admission fee of one of our guests ? Perhaps Alex00jack can join me ?
The fact that the Club has got the admission prices and the free entry of children to games so drastically wrong is nothing to do with out guests.
Just as a final point. My grandfather came to Scotland from a different country, lived in Albion Street, and followed Rovers for 60 years.Funny that.
