Taxi for Kerr. Hard to find any positives just now. Stevie Gerrard as next manager?

So disapointed with this season after such a promising start. Doubt I would keep more than Fisher and Reid in any team next year. Cannot believe the gutless performances we've seen in recent weeks. So very very dissapointed. And I don't drink so can't console myself.....

So very very dissapointed. And I don't drink so can't console myself..... Spot on Peter, what a start we made,,we were playing teams off the park and scoring for fun. Even back then though the defence was brutal and needed work done but i thought that would happen,,instead a few months later here we are relegated and conceeded 80 goals lol. Can never fault the effort of the boys but effort will only get us so far. Ive felt we took an extre dip in form since young conor left. Theres about 5 id keep maybe 6 at very most, and its time for kerr to go (in my opinion),,great guy, great ideas and hopefully he can get a shot somewhere else but he doesnt have the resources at Rovers to do what he talks about. League 2,hopefully keep the backbone and rebuild and be stronger and go straight back up.

A lot of important decisions to be made in the next week. Personally I would continue with Brian Kerr as I feel the guy has had a lot to contend with this season and results apart I have quite liked the way he has had the team playing. He has had a small squad, had injuries at crucial times during the season, had a small budget and not the greatest pitch to play on. At the end of the day, with the foregoing in mind which will not change, I would rather be in a league where we can at least compete with the chances of winning more games than trying to compete with teams who are full time with bigger squads and budgets. No supporter likes his team to be relegated but sometimes in life you have to take a step backwards to move forwards.

I'd let Kerr thumb a lift. Taxi is too good for him.
Another fairly toothless display today. The best team wins the league and as for the team that finishes bottom........ well that's us.
McMullin missed the chance of the season at 0-0 when he scooped the ball over the bar from about 6 inches out. That was a great chance and although ultimately we'd have been beaten I reckon, it would have given us a bit of a lift.
Congrats to Ayr and also begrudgingly to wee Gus and his cheating team.
Some fairly long treks to away games next season and we'd better get used to attendances in the 1 and 2 hundreds as I can't see there being many away fans making the trip.
Very disappointing right enough but as we've said on here many times before - if you sign players from the bottom of L2 and the Lowland League then this is what happens. If that's all we can afford then life will be interesting going forward.

Finished where we deserved to finish tbh, league table doesnt lie. dissapointed after cracking start we had for season to fizzle out and end the way it did....but we go again next year. onwards and hopefully upwards.

Never thought we'do take anything from this game anyway but then never thought that Queens Park would get a result either
Not going to repeat my thoughts because most of them have already been made in the last few posts.
What really p****d me off though was the complete lack of the amount of players applauding the fans. As soon as the full time whistle went they were straight down the tunnel bar Alan Reid (who was distraught on hearing the QP score) & Ross Davidson. Where was the rest of the team on the final game of the season???

It`s not just a matter of who we would like to keep....who can we afford.....and will those want to stay on much reduced money.

Things started great and we played great (away from home), and i agree that brian has had a lot to contend with but for me his time was up in december. If he gets another go il back him and his team to the hilt once again from the sidelines but i feel a fresh change is needed. I wouldnt have fancied our chances in play offs v peterhead and i think they wil beat qp anyway so maybe its better to get it out the way just now but still raw, still sore and as you said the next week once dust has settled the decisions will be made

I hope trouten stays with us, what a player he's been for us this season, and also we need a top notch goal keeper as well.

I think that throughout the season we lacked physical strength against opponents, and were easily robbed of possession or knocked off the ball too easily. We did not have any imagination in ideas up front or a telepathy that team mates need to create chances and build moves. I agree we lost impetus up front when Connor left, as he did have that anticipation to be in the right position to take a chance. The 2-0 score line today has been a fairly regular occurrence for us - especially in the latter half of the season as we often flagged in the later stages of games. It is going to be difficult to keep the best from the squad , but we need to spend what resource we can afford wisely on solid experience - not a league solely for under 20s. We can bounce back as has been our way over the last 8 years . I don't think any return to the wilderness years of post 1948 is on the cards , we have been through that barren period and have suffered enough - I am optimistic as always for the future !

The one point that has stuck in my craw is a statement i heard from Brian Kerr in November "the pitch doesnt suit the style im trying to play",,,this from the guy that used cliftonhill for a season previous with the development squad.

This was coming unfortunately. Kerr’s organisation of the team has been abysmal and to state budget constrictions is nonsense. The team was lightweight in stature and had no idea how to defend. If he is in charge in the rough and tumble of league two I fear for the the prospect of the trap door. League two is now a very dangerous place, I hope the right appointments can be made. If the team was to make an effort it wasn’t about today but the string of home games we had a month or so ago. Anyway onwards and hopefully upwards. Well done Montrose as well
