John has won promotion with Cambuslang Rangers scoring 19 goals in 30 games, a great return for the season given that he stepped up to the plate and played 7 games as a centre back.
Now we are back in League 2, Big John knows the league very well and would be the perfect striker to lead the line for us. The big man is loved by the majority if not all of our support and I’m sure having him back at the club would get a few supporters back to the games. In my opinion, we haven’t had any sort of ‘hero’ at the club since he left, no player who actually brings the excitement than The Beast as our No9.
So Mr Chairman, get on the phone to John and get him signed up for a crack at League 2.
BEAST BEAST BEAST!!

Agree with Paul on this. Part of two of the most successful ‘Vers sides in recent memory. Teamed with the right partner, there’s no doubt in my mind he could still do the business.

His control of the ball and anticipation to be in the right place cannot be faulted. He needs to watch the red mist doesn't come down too often as he could be a marked man for the refs. But agree that his presence would appeal to most supporters and add a bit of True Grit like his namesake from that film !

This is what’s so good about the big man, you never know what you are going to get with him. One moment of madness then the next minute he’s blootered a 30 yarder into the top bag. He puts fear into the opposition defenders, exactly what we need. For me it’s a no brainer to get him signed up. #bringthebeasthome

Add them together and they probably weigh less than Gemmell
