I think what the manager said re. the Beast was that he could do what he does - and he's 64! Also mentioned Barry Russell was a possibility - wanted too much money. Fish has been made an offer - mulling it over. We will have a reserve team next season as well as the U-20's - manager to be announced soon - a significant name apparently! Around 13 players signed - a few names mentioned but none that I can recall right now. A couple of lads from Alloa U-20's. A few seniors but mostly Juniors in the likely make up - we have signed someone from Edinburgh City. No excuses on the state of the pitch - we will play around that. It' the Under 19s that are continuing with Josh as manager Shakey - no 20's league/ team next season. replaced by the reserve league.

My thoughts from the meeting last night:
Manager - engaging guy. Doesn’t look like he’ll take any sh1t but also capable of putting his arm round a player if they needed it. Fish - has been made an offer and will let us know in a few days. There was a very slight dig at Fish’s performances last season and his role as captain from the audience. Me and someone else spoke up in Fish’s defence. Nothing serious. Holmer - probably off to EK. Seems he and Kerr are buddies. Plus EK offering more money than Rovers. Style of play next year - will vary depending on circumstances, players, opposition, playing surface etc etc etc. Sounds like at least a plan B and C. We’ll also concentrate a bit on pace, strength and a touch of aggression I’d say. About time too. I don’t think there will be many shrinking violets in the team next year. Like the sound of that. Alloa - Alloa were mentioned lots so seems there is some connection there. We’ve signed a few from Alloa reserves/youth or whatever. I saw Alloa a good few times last season as my mate plays there. They aren’t that great and filled their team with loanees as opposed to the people we are taking on from within their own set up. Alloa were mentioned a lot!! Contacts - seems John has loads within the game, especially at Junior level. We will be raiding the best of what there is in the junior ranks. A lot of those have plenty years experience - 26/27/28 year olds. Seems we’ve signed a few who feel like they have a point to prove in the senior game. Sounds promising. Goalie - We’re looking to sign the “best shot stopper” in junior football. No idea who that is. John likes a keeper who comes off his line for crosses and has a presence. That would make a welcome change. Players - we’ve got about 8 signed. Reserves - there will be a “big announcement” about who will come to Rovers to take charge of the reserves. Quite a coup apparently. Rovers will have a reserve team next year who will train with the first team. The best will hopefully end up in the first team. Kerr - some interesting comments about Kerr. His blaming of the pitch was particularly annoying. Some officials were a wee bit less than complimentary about Kerr. Made me wonder why he lasted the season. And absolutely mystifying as to why he was offered another year. Budget - Rovers will be living within their budget, whatever that is. Reidy - off to Stenny for more cash. Makes him sound a bit mercenary but he goes with our best wishes. Well mine anyway. Target next season - a very realistic top 6. I’d settle for that right now.
Overall, a pretty good session. Glad I went. Probably about 40 people there. Decent turnout compared to most home games, haha!
Sounds a wee bit similar to last season where we signed guys from lower divisions and it kind of showed? Hope this year is a wee bit different. Well a lot different actually!

Unfortunately I didn't make it on Thursday. All I will say is the whole place needs that sense of spirit and togetherness again. For weeks leading up to the end of the season there was a quiet acceptance from Manager, players, Directors and fans that the club would go down which was pretty much unacceptable as it was compounded with complaints about the state of the pitch, low budget, bad refereeing decisions and general unluckiness . We need that old spirit back again.
As for Reidy going to Stenny - I don't see how anyone can grudge this absolute hero a move - be it for more money or less money.

Hi all,
New rovers fan and first time poster. Some guys have summarised the meeting very well so nothing additional to add. I was in attendance as I am considering buying a season ticket for the first time and came along to hear what the new management team had to say. I was very impressed with John's thoughts about the forthcoming season and the rebuilding work. The three of them came across very well, very passionate and excited which reflected around the room. This year can be (and will be) an exciting year for the Rovers. Loved their approach in selecting the right players for the club and giving the younger players an opportunity, an end goal with the first team if they work hard enough and are good enough. Really liked the thought processes there.
I spoke with Eddie Hagerty afterwards and there seems a lot of work going on in the background as well. Had a quick chat with Ronnie too.
Overall I am impressed with the plans for the Rovers, the management team seem switched on and the Directors are working hard in the background. It was great to see the room packed out with supporters as well. You all have a passion for the club.
I'm certainly sold on the season ticket for this year, hope to see you all there.
Good luck to John and the team.
