I am sure we will hear about the meeting via this board - some folks will miss out as they are on holiday , others like me, Nanook, Alasdair1946 etc are `exiles` and live to far away to attend.

Excellent meeting tonight, some interesting news on the signing front some good straight talking from the manager and his coaches and a really positive meeting .The manager was keen to stress that the new players will be able to play in a few positions and be very pacy and bring great energy to the team, but be well organised and know their role on the park.

A very good turnout tonight, ended up being standing room only. There was optimism from John about the players being signed but being realistic too such as if a player wants £200 per week then he can bugger off. Can't remember the new faces mentioned as I am terrible with names but there is no chance of the beast coming back. I was glad when John said that he is hoping for a top 6 finish at the end of the season. If he had said play offs or champions I would have been sceptical. I know Brian Kerr said he was aiming for the play offs at the start of last season which obviously turned out to be total cr*p. Anyway I shook the management teams hands and wished them all the best for the season ahead and I will be back for a 5th season supporting Rovers so they deserve a chance in my opinion.

A bit sceptical about the new season before going to the meeting. After it though a bit more re-assured. Less of a budget but manager comfortable to work with the resources available and made great emphasis on players being sourced from junior football too. Manager has already been active on transfer market.
John Gemmell was mentioned! Not part of the equation though.
Valuable experience in this new management team. All the best for the season ahead.

I think what the manager said re. the Beast was that he could do what he does - and he's 64!
Also mentioned Barry Russell was a possibility - wanted too much money. Fish has been made an offer - mulling it over. We will have a reserve team next season as well as the U-20's - manager to be announced soon - a significant name apparently! Around 13 players signed - a few names mentioned but none that I can recall right now. A couple of lads from Alloa U-20's. A few seniors but mostly Juniors in the likely make up - we have signed someone from Edinburgh City.
No excuses on the state of the pitch - we will play around that.
