Sir Andrew Sloan former Chief Constable of Strathclyde Police seldom responded to criticsm of the Police in the media as his opinion was that today's news is tomorrow's fish supper wrapping and people's memories are short. It doesn't always follow that the Club need to respond to every bit of reporting as long as they themselves have acted resposibly and lets face it how big an audience would be interested in or even read McLaughlin's comments. lets face it how big an audience would be interested in or even read McLaughlin's comments. Mountain out of a molehill McLaughlin is well known in the Scottish leagues, the lower league players is a close knit community, SO, potential signings and others for rovers would have possibly taken a keen interest in this. To simply shrug it off is wrong and I’m glad to see the clubs response to it.

Seems to me someone is orchestrating these 'press releases' to our friendly local journalist. Now why would that be?

Rank bad journalism - maybe time to bar Mark Pirie from Cliftonhill. His predeccessor Colin Paterson always gave Vers a fair crack on the whip !

But who is feeding our wee local journalist all these 'insider' stories; or non-stories as they turn out to be?

Well, perhaps, in the name of good impartiality, he might enlighten us about where his rich source of stories come from. Oops forgot; 'must protect ma sources byraway 'n' that', or whatever passes for Scotch journalism these days.

Just listened to the Pele podcast this week interviewing Neil Parry. I didn't know he verbally agreed with Darren Young to sign for another season after winning League 2 only to renege a few days later when he found out Airdrie wanted to sign him. Darren kept that under wraps after the deed was done.

Players seem to expect loyalty from clubs but don`t give it when it suits them. Regards Perry, it was widely rumoured at the time he had told DY he would re-sign, then reneged on his word

Airdrie have a habit of poaching our best players. I remember a guy in the early 80s called Jim McDonough , he had a cracking Lanarkshire cup tournament and good start to August in the league - when Airdrie nabbed him mid way through the month !
